    14 Units for Year 12

14 units is definitely a lot, however, if you genuinely enjoy all 14 units and have the time to study for all your units, then it is okay. I knew a people who have done extremely well in the HSC with 14 units.

    4U Polynomial question HELP !!

    can't do the question right now but i assume that this is how you do it: since x^3 + 3ax^2 + 3bx + c = 0 has a double root then this means that p(x) = x^3 + 3ax^2 + 3bx + c has a double zero. let this double zero be y. then p(y) = 0 and p'(y) = 0. this means that y^3 + 3ay^2 + 3by + c = 0 and...

    Is my HSC doomed?

^ If you underperform in trials, but your overall ranking is still fine, then you will be okay

    Is my HSC doomed?

Not doing well in your trials will definitely impact your ATAR, but you can still work hard for the HSC exams, which may result in an 80+ ATAR.

    Past Papers

If you don't have enough time to memorise all the content and do multiple past papers, you should definitely consider trying to do as much of a past paper as possible. If you are stuck, only then do you get out your notes and then answer the question

    Trig Proof - Help Please

    tan(pi/4 + x) = (tan(pi/4) + tan(x))/(1 - tan(pi/4)tan(x)) (tan expansion formula) = (1 + tan(x))/(1 - tan(x)) = (cos(x) + tan(x)cos(x))/(cos(x) - tan(x)cos(x)) (multiplying the top and bottom by cos(x)) = (cos(x) + sin(x))/(cos(x) - sin(x))

What Schools have the best past papers to use for practice?

Like pikachu975 said, do past papers from your school or past papers that are of similar difficulty to your school's exams. Leading up to the HSC, you should be doing more difficult past papers (from the top schools) so that you are familiar with a wider range of questions
