    Why is this thread dead?

Best way to make a forum section active is by starting discussions/threads! ;) Looks like were in need of some recent resources for Ag too! Iirc, a few selective schools actually have mandatory Ag in year 11.

Is Standard English really an Atar killer and should i do advance instead?

I believe state wide the stats are fairly similar to your school - band 6s are rare in standard. I'd definitely recommend taking advanced if you are getting an ATAR.

They have a pretty similar subject in the first semester of the B Business at UTS, it was promoted as the "flagship" subject of the course and it seemed some staff were pretty proud of the subject lol. It was almost universally disliked or considered a bludge by the students however. Personally...

Computer related degree help for you

Good chart! It's not offered anymore, but I studied ICT Engineering at UTS which was almost half way between Computer Engineering and Software Engineering as it effectively had a common core with CE, telecoms/networking and software which were all submajors of ICT at the time.

Do unis care about participation in school events (carnivals) when considering accepting you

No, the vast majority of courses only use ATAR for selection. For those that don't (mostly medicine, scholarships or if you are applying as a talented athlete), they would probably only care if you were presenting athletic prowess as an extra curricular activity/talent of yours that was...

    'Mature age' entry into Law

I definitely think it's worth trying, a credit average transfers relatively favourably to ATAR. Different universities follow different systems once you've finished some uni subjects, so your ATAR may or may not contribute and how much it would contribute would differ between universities.

    Diploma Of Eng

You should be able to use the MQ diploma for applying to other universities, as it's really not all that different to having a TAFE diploma and using that as an alternative pathway. The guaranteed credit transfer or admission wouldn't still be valid though. My gut feeling just from hearing about...

    Cyber security

It often is just a major in Science, IT or Engineering. The interesting thing about Cybersecurity is it's kind of multidisciplinary in a way, like you can look at it from a regulation/legal point of view, a mathematical point of view (cryptography) or various distinct technical points of...

    Cyber security

I don't think that list above is comprehensive/up to date, UTS have started a Masters In Cyber Security but it isn't listed on there. If you're considering online programs, check out the Online Masters of Science in Cyber Security at Georgia Tech in the US, they've just recently started...

    Confused

I was referring to the content and quality of subjects in CompSci/SEng at the respective unis, I don't know if UNSW have a direct equivalent to the Dalyell program. From my understanding, the Dalyell program will let you do some project based units and have an academic mentor. The program you...

    Confused

If your friends are at UNSW and you were set on UNSW before getting that specific USYD Dalyell Scholar offer, i'd recommend ensuring that program is actually worthwhile. This might be a good place to start: https://community.boredofstudies.org/114/university-sydney/387070/dalyell-scholar.html...

    Truth about BIT Co-op

This is unfortunately the case for any course with some prestige. An extreme example is the Rhodes Scholarship which is probably one of the most prestigious scholarships in the world. There are people that apply for it purely for the prestige without a passion for either what they are studying...

It looked like they're trying to generalise combined degrees and ways of gaining efficiencies from combined degrees, i.e. using your electives for subjects in another degree. I think for that approach to work well, they need to keep good track of anti-requisites of subjects across faculties...

    Will i fail at life?

You've done 11 years of maths, you can catch up on anything relevant to your studies/career from that 2 years of missed maths study pretty quickly. You will need maths for commerce, but what level depends on the major you are studying. Even first year subjects (accounting, finance, economics...

I didn't look too much into it and it was at the start of the year so I might be wrong, but I believe the statistics/report which lead to these kinds of measures included incidents on public transport (for example) and on the way into uni to be university related. I agree it didn't seem...

Fair enough, I think I did my quiz while procrastinating for sem 1 exams lol so they probably only added it right at the end. Iirc, the UTS quiz wasn't even really integrated with the module very well. It was just a standard quiz through blackboard that felt like an afterthought lol, but I...
