I'll probably be writing and finishing this drawing I'm doing.

    Romanticism Related Texts?

*blink* Well, I used paintings, Dead Poets and some poems by Lord Byron. lol, I found those poems the day before the exam and I still came through reasonably okay. Perhaps not my best effort ever, but I got a better ATAR than I thought I'd get. Paintings were by Caspar Friedrich David (Abbey in...

Is it necessary to actually read Frankenstein?

lol, awesome ^_^ yep, Skrzynecki was terrible. At least it was belonging though. You could use an epic awesome presribed text to compensate. But yes, under those circumstances I can see why you'd have read Frankenstein in the summer holidays lol. Me, I just like reading.

English Ext 2 VS Maths Ext 2

I found English Extension 2 to be stressful but rewarding, but that may be because I'm a writer and it meant one less subject to study for before the HSC. I didn't do it, but some good friends did Maths Extension 2, and they dropped 2U Maths and their Extensions were worth 2 units or something...

Is it necessary to actually read Frankenstein?

What were your other prescribed texts? Frankenstien was way better than Immigrant Chronicle and Fiftieth Gate here (I actually thought Hamlet was quite good, and Blade Runner was the same module so not counting it).

Is it necessary to actually read Frankenstein?

I'm not saying it is, but some people might prefer trudging through a boring novel rather than read a 'super gay' novel almost three times the first novels length and infinitely more popular as well.

Isn't that all up to personal opinion though lol?

Is it necessary to actually read Frankenstein?

It's only just longer than Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Really, that's not all that long when you think about it. Especially since HP5 is about three times as long as HP3.

    Avatar as a belonging text?

I was original. I did anime for a related text. It was a critically acclaimed one too, for the most part, and I knew it so well I could very safely bs my way through some bits that in other texts might seem like a stretch. Although Avatar might work, perhaps a less well known film might work...

I should be able to get a USYD Arts offer. I got 92.95; I'm over the cutoff methinks.

Is it necessary to actually read Frankenstein?

As I said, that worked for you. It doesn't necesarilly work for everyone though.

Is it necessary to actually read Frankenstein?

But Advanced can scale bad if you don't do well at it either. Haha, I know someone who did Standard and I think they got an ATAR of about 95 or so. Admittedly, they did Maths and Sciences, but hey.

Is it necessary to actually read Frankenstein?

You can also get tips on context from Wikipedia. *shrug* Although, I still raise the question why this person is doing advanced if they don't like reading. Surely they would have expected to be encountering a lot of reading in this course?

Is it necessary to actually read Frankenstein?

That may have worked for you, and it may work for some people. I know, speaking from experience, that I read the book a few times during the year and came across ideas I doubt I would have come across reading through sparknotes, mainly because some of these ideas relate to some of the quotes...

Is it necessary to actually read Frankenstein?

Not necessarilly. Perhaps just speaking from a different experience, but by no means idiots.
