Check back here in a day or two, i'll have the link for u cos i'll run it off muy website

These are the correct oxidation numbers
Carbon is nearly always has a oxidation number of +/-4
Nitrogen usually has a oxidation number of -3 but can change
Oxygen has a oxidation number of -2 in usually but has an oxidation number of -1 in peroxides or superoxides (potassium oxide)...
Also the concentration of HCl is not accurately known when it is manufactured. This is becuse a number of factors such as temperature and pressure. This is why the solutions have to be titrated to get an accurate concentration of the solution.

if the exam asks you a question that is not related to a dot point then you have to lodge a formal complaint because you are being tested on things that you are not.
Make sure that you complain if they don't, they have to take all complaints seriously and investigate them all

for the sulfate test you could used barium nitrate to precipitate out barium sulfate and do a quantitative analysis on the amount present, then calculate the amount of sulfuric acid present in the sample

Hey,
Yeah they do clean up major spills using a neutralisation reaction. But the use of neutralising chemicals is monitored very strictly as to the salt that will be formed and the effects it has on the environment. My uncle is in the EPA so I'll ask him about it, so check back here cos I'll...

Commercially produced solutions of acids like hydrochloric, sulfuric and nitric are not made up to any certain standard. Thus the concentration of these solutions can vary. That is why oxalic acid is used as a standard solution because the *exact* concentration of the acid can be calculated...

One method of finding the concenration of ammonia if it is in solution is to tritate it with a standardised acid solution, e.g. oxalic acid. This is because a solution of ammonia is basic because it produces ammonium hydroxide, and therefore hydroxide ions.
NH3 +...
