So you guys/your customers still earned QFF and fuel vouchers on tobacco products? QLD has had that law in place since before I started. I never asked for EDR card anyway... and when I did (when SM was nearby) I had the know-it-alls say exactly that. Could the mystery shopper come thru the...

Yeah I'm starting to wonder that... I should have asked if there is a clause there that excludes it from our store or anything... But our SDA Steward (the lady I asked) did ask the SDA representative that comes out here every few weeks, so I guess she knows what she's about.

I asked my SDA representative today, she told me that that doesn't apply to our store, because our store only trades 6-days, and that part of the agreement was written with 7-day trading in mind. Somehow that affects it. Bugger :(

Are you contracted to that Saturday though? I've swapped my usual Saturday (the one that just went, which I do fortnightly) with one of the other supervisors Saturday's (Australia Day), cos they need to have it off, and they've done some really weird thing where I am getting paid as if I...

Finally got the new pin pads. So much quicker. Do you reckon my CSM will hate me if I work that Australia Day (Saturday) shift and asked to be paid double time and a half afterwards? Is there an online copy of the new agreement which I can print off? (EDIT: DW found the online copy)

I suppose... I'll ask him next time I work :) I lost my piece of paper which explained the changes with the new agreement. Oh okay. Hmmmm... I've been reading this that BSammy posted up there... I'm not contracted to that Saturday. I guess that "ordinarily" term means that this doesn't...

I asked one of the other supervisors today if I'll get paid public holiday rates for the Saturday... she told me "no, cos the public holiday for Australia Day is the Monday". I sort of didn't argue... because I am 99% sure we will be closed on the Monday... but how could I argue if I wanted to...

So you can choose which day you get paid public holiday rates? Cos I've just found out I'm supervising 7:30am-5:30pm on Australia Day. I'm also contracted for supervising the Monday from 7:30am-11:30pm, then operator from 12:30pm-4:30pm. Our store isn't usually open on public holidays... so...

If you've signed the adjustment book, then you've basically agreed for them to do this. You have every right to say no, and if they have a problem with it, don't sign the adjustment book, and you should be paid overtime for any hours you work that you've said no to... and if you have to work...

How was everyone's Christmas? I had to work Saturday-Sunday-Monday. Saturday was so busy, and I finished early Sunday, but apparently it got busy after I left. And apparently we had every single checkout open on Monday morning (which is like, amazing for us, seeing as how we have like 4 of our...

Thanks for your help, but I got it done yesterday. The dispatched a technician within 2 hours! Pretty sure all he did was plug a cable in though, cos he wasn't there long. But at least it's working again haha :) Also I heard a tip that could be useful over the next couple of weeks: if your EFT...

Yea, that's the position I originally applied for. The massive benefits included a car complete with unlimited fuel card. Unfortunately, my trololol was unsuccessful. :) And yous reckon QLD is a backwards state! We can serve customers cigarettes, regardless of the cashiers age. I became a...

I'm guessing, due to its lack of usage over the past year, is that it has been crashing at least four times a week for the past three months. I usually just reboot it from the start menu an the Storeline application boots up. We only use it for spot checks. Except for now. Anyway, how do you...

Yea, pretty glad about that. The Woolies Fresh (now Select) milk tastes better than H/B anyway. One of our registers we haven't used since last Xmas is having some trouble with the scales. The scale display shows the weight of the produce, however the register just awaits the scale input, and...

Well, I got a reply within three days. But that's over four years ago now. Highlight of my day: creating an enormous traffic problem in the car park while collecting trollies. Though the customers who are over-protective of their car may have had something do with it.

Haha clearly. Yea, but I thought the law stated that "The sale of tobacco can only take place from one counter", meaning he also has to be receiving them over the smokeshop counter. I would look it up, but I can't be bothered when I'm on my phone

WHOA! Nah, we had a trivia night for a fundraiser for a few stores in the area for the Fresh Food Kids. We all got drunk haha :) What's this? New employee's at my store are pretty good. I'm not a very motivated role-model though, so I don't think I'm training them properly. Also, I have a...
