    General Thoughts: Society and Culture

I think the paper had some tricky questions. Especially for those who studied Belief systems and ideologies, depending on the one you studied the idea of authority influencing one belief system in relation to ethical issues seemed a bit vague and unclear and it was difficult to see a direct...

General thoughts: English Advanced Modules Paper 2

Yeah, I know what you mean...I started talking about the impact of deceit (divine retribution) and the representation of deceit through villany: for example how both composers portray the consequences of deceit through the theme of conscience and I also talks about role of language to assist in...

cana decent internal asses. ranking still give good HSC mark if u perform badly inHSC

Hi, I was just wondering if you were ranked quite well internally for English adv. for example (i.e. top 10) but you perform badly rank-wise in the HSC exam, can your internal ranking provide a fail safe in this case, so is it possible still to get a decent mark despite a mark that doesn't...

if you do bad in HSC English external but had a good internal rank, would that help?

Just did HSC English Advanced external. I've had sleeping problems for a while and the stress of HSC meant that I was doing my paper 2 English with basically 1 hour of sleep as I literally spent the whole night tossing and turning. I haven't applied for any special access scheme or whatever...

What is the rough raw mark for English Advanced band 6?

Hi, I'm a bit confused about raw marks for English in external exams and for other subjects for that matter. Just did paper 1 today and my time management really impacted on my ability to do well in the essay and I found the creative tricky so I'm hoping to scrape a B range for those two and...

    Section 3 - Extended Response

I had really bad time management. spent like 60 minutes doing Reading section! Yeah I know, but I am really slow with reading and I wrote a lot so I'm hoping for at least a 14/15 because, seriously I sacrificed the other sections. :( Just wondering, I was only able to get one point for both...

Media and communications degree at UTS or University of Sydney??

Thanks for your insights. :) they were really helpful. Yes, I think media/ comms at Sydney is about four years. So when you were saying that the sydney uni degree for media/ comms its not flexible do you mean it doesn't allow for certain electives. I also recently went to an open day at UTS...

Can I do a film related text if my set text is a documntary TV Series

My prescribed text is Go Back to Where You Came from which is a TV miniseries. Would it still be okay to do a film as a related text or would it be considered to not show a wide range reading/ choice of texts by markers if they are both audio-visual texts. Thanks

Media and communications degree at UTS or University of Sydney??

I'm interested in this degree but was wondering which university is better suited to my interests. I know UTS is the leading uni for communications, but the problem is that it forces you to focus and specialise in a major when applying for UAC undergraduate courses (I'm in year 12); for...

Macquarie or a city university i.e. UTS, Usyd, UNSW for arts/ law?

I cannot be sure and I will most likely change. But, at this point I was thinking of perhaps a policy advisor/ analyst, communication/ writing, working for intelligence or security or foreign affairs/ trade.

Macquarie or a city university i.e. UTS, Usyd, UNSW for arts/ law?

I put in my preferences, though will likely change them. My question was that, do employers judge students from the university they study at. For example I am a humanities inclined student , but would like to combine a degree with something a bit practical like Law. however, obviously ATAR...

Hi guys, so I've finished trials now (my school does it two weeks earlier) and they were pretty hard, stressful and required lots of cramming. In fact I'm pretty sure I failed two exams which I've been really depressed about. I really want to feel well prepared for the actual HSC exams...
