Um, so the HSC set the 40 minute time-frame so that most people could write "superficial responses"? That's not the case with me because I don't go in with prepared essays and I seem to do fine. Some have that talent, some don't.... it's something you need to work on... you don't just gain it...

You DONT need to, but as themanman said, it is preferred because it is asking you directly for YOUR response - and if you feel that you could make your judgement clear without using first person tense, then by all means, but it's sort of showing the marker that you are addressing the question...

Hopefully you don't get my teacher marking your paper because he basically knows nearly every quote, lol. He can randomly just recite a soliloquy for you. Plus, it's very risky to have made them up... Good luck!

Well if you went into detail and explained them with relevant points supporting your judgement, then yeah. If it was generic and lacking substance, then it wouldn't be of a high standard essay, because it asks you with DETAILED reference to the play.

    Section 1 - Stimulus

You can use symbolism [e.g holding the globe, symbolising unity and global belonging to one common place - earth], the use of diction of some of the words in the visual, etc.

So since it's all over, thoughts on raw marks for band 6?

True. Not all stories will reflect on the past, most people just write for the heck of showing how people belong to others, and a place they CURRENTLY belong to. So I dont know. I think it might have screwed people over too.

Hmm, the advanced paper was alright. Module A - Sort of b/s'd a little, but I think I did better int he trials - well we did 2 trials and I got 20/20 for this essay, but meh, we'll see. Module B - Hamlet - they gave an excerpt from the play and you had to give your judgement about the play as...

The three questions here - and thier Difficulty

Oh I do Robertson. Yeah, I just made use of his idea of the legal system and how he creates this whole new world of his through the use of legal terminology and how he uses the features of the legal system to conform to his perspective of a Just Game, hence having to shape our view of the Game...
