    finding the limit of the derivative to determine how quickly a function increases/decreases?

    e.g. if the derivative approaches zero that will mean graph is approaching a constant value lim(x->infinity) 1/x =0 lim(x->infinity) -x^-2 =0 e.g. y=2x lim(x->infinity) 2 = 2 This means as x-> infinity, y-> infinity since the gradient is positive.
