Let's combine the dates for the 2010 HSC timetable (:

Just log onto student online and view your timetable, assuming that you do DAT. All the exams I'm sitting are up already, but I must say that while my trials exam timetable are quite stellar, the HSC timetable outdoes it a few billion times. 15th October - Advanced English AOS 18th October -...

Do I still have a chance at my aim ATAR?

Depends on your subjects, your rank and school rank (moreso how good your school's yr 12 cohort is), and how hard your exams were. Raw marks aren't a great indication of how well / badly you are doing though. I would probably wait for semester 1 reports and see your assessment mark.

Please help me I need to know ATAR

208 Advanced English students... that's almost an indication of a high ranked school tbh.

    Half Yearly marks

MX1 - 4th overall MX2 - 4th overall AEng - top 20~ after 2 assessments(considering all the EX1 people too so I'm ok with this.. for now). Biology - probably top 10 or 15 after two assessments Chemistry - haven't received marks back yet.. but apparently only two people passed.. None of my goals...

    School Rankings

DA stands for Distinguished Achievers I'd guess, meaning they're the amount of Band 6s or E4s. % is the percentage of band 6s achieve across all exams sat.

    Future Plans (UAI/Uni/Tafe/Job)

I'm not motivated because I can't be bothered driving around a block. Also I'm worried that I might crash but I don't admit this usually.

Should I give up on my firend?

Stop white knighting him, and focus on the HSC for yourself.

How is the Dux determined at your school?

Last year, Michael (jetblack2007) was the obvious dux. He achieved E4 in MX1 and MX2 on an accelerated program. He then proceeded to get Band 6 for Advanced English, Biology, Chemistry, Music 1, Studies of Religion 1, E4 for EX1 (I think) and High Disctintion (1st place) for Cosmology. This...

fun and not so fun subjects

I doubt anyone doing a subject with a major work would spend more time on Physics than.. their major work. But that's just from speculations. Anyway I think, from your list, that you're generalizing which subject is fun and not fun too much. Chemistry is a great subject I think, and I enjoy...

How much of the HSC course have you completed?

Yeah what a bitch. :haha: now THOSE are some precise figures. A. English: 50% Bioloogy: 45% Chemistry: 49% MX1: two topics to go I think MX2: 50% Ancient History: idk slightly confusing. We did Sparta and now we're doing two topics at once (Fall of the Roman Republic and Julius Caesar for our...

Written a lot of notes these holidays?

I redid my dot points for Chem, and did a bit of math. I read a bit of Frankenstein but then I found a more interesting book and so I still haven't finished Frankenstein despite having about 2 weeks. Is this bad? :[ Also, I need to look over Hamlet ontop of finishing reading Frankenstein AND...

How much of the Preliminary HSC course have you completed?

I think preliminary Biology is pretty useless in HSC Biology as a whole, although there are somewhat minor areas in the preliminary course that are recovered in more depth in the HSC course (like meiosis). That being said, my school has only completed two HSC topics so I can't completely confirm...

Does anyone think they messed up choosing subjects?

UAI Mark basically. A result of 25 indicates an average and does not scale up or down. Anything >25 scales up. Anything <25 scales down. Biology UAI mark for the past 5 years starting with 2005: 26.7, 26.9, 26.9, 26.9, 26.8 PDHPE UAI mark for the past 5 years starting with 2005: 23.4, 23.3...

Application of Calculus to the Physical World.

Everything challenging in Math can be solved by following a simple procedure: 1. For 2 unit, memorise the formulas. 2. Read the examples in text-book thoroughly. Your teacher should go through these examples with you in class. 3. Tackle any questions you can do in the text book first. Skip the...

I've completed the survey. Good luck with it.

Does anyone think they messed up choosing subjects?

Well, we can't say for sure about whether a subject scales up or down. Over the past 8 or so so years Biology has consistently scaled up, even if slightly (27~) while PDHPE consistently slightly scaled down (23~). This shouldn't influence what subject you're looking to drop though. You should...

    Show me your Pens!

    - Smooth; let's you write faster - Fine tip; makes your writing look neater - good size, not too small, not too large, pretty light; comfortable to write with runs out very quickly and pretty expensive, though.

    Motivation?

It's been discussed many times. It is possible to get above 95 with any subject combination. Hell, it's possible to get above 99 with any subject. The only issue is how much effort and work you're willing to put into your studies. I have the same problem of laziness and I just can't control...
