    General thoughts: HSC chemistry 2015

I thought I was the only one who thought this haha I always go with ammonia recovery coming after the thermal decomposition of sodium hydrogen carbonate but I followed the flowchart just to be safe They said with reference to the flowchart so if you referred your other processes such as...

    General thoughts: HSC chemistry 2015

Marking criteria changes over time I think they'd be looking for you to be specific with the type of polystyrene and polyethylene so I talked about LDPE, HDPE, crystal polystyrene and expanded polystyrene just to be safe

It should be available to the public

    Thoughts on HSC chemistry 2015

That's too straight forward to be the discriminator - Everyone said they realised it was a buffer solution and since a "small amount" of sodium hydroxide was being added there is no change in pH I think the discriminator's would have popped up in the options

Haha I got extremely lucky with that question I saw the lead-acid anode and cathode half-equations and I'm like yeah nah ceebs memorising that, if they're going to ask a question about it I'll memorise it for my related battery so I just memorised the equation for the vanadium redox cell

    HSC Physics Marathon 2013-2015 Archive

re: HSC Physics Marathon Archive fibreglass I've never heard of memory foam before But it sounds familiar though (you see what I did there ;) )

    General thoughts: HSC chemistry 2015

Yeah because it forms a buffer system They also used terms to kind of hint at it Like "equal volume and concentration" and a "small amount of sodium hydroxide being added"

    HSC Physics Marathon 2013-2015 Archive

re: HSC Physics Marathon Archive Just talk about the person's posture and the chair made of fibreglass they lay on (It's specifically shaped to their body so that the g-forces are evenly spread through the body) + Talk about how the eye balls in approach is easier to tolerate than the eye...

    General thoughts: HSC chemistry 2015

Haha what did you put in terms of safety? I mentioned using a hot plate so you can moderate the temperature more easily than with a bunsen burner - This prevents the mixture from over-flowing (this became a real nuisance during our irl prac) and spitting hot liquid everywhere (also wearing...

You'll be fine Just keep in mind that band 6'ing physics is not an easy task

LOL Yeah I memorised it in the morning as well and was kind of hoping for it to be the 7 marker though

    General thoughts: HSC chemistry 2015

Yeah I'm interested to hear what others put as well I talked about giving more time for the ground up fertiliser to dissolve in the hydrochloric acid (They mentioned that the Barium chloride is added in excess quickly after that) + Using a sintered glass filter since the barium sulphate...
