Question about online tutorials? For B Arts

I believe it is recorded before hand. I'm liking it a lot :). I'm glad I chose to take it instead of straight psych, because I've opened up my mind to different areas like humanities, social sciences and more recently, business. Having a mix of things can keep it interesting.

Re: 2010 UWS Chatter Thread Haha, it's cool, I thought I'd avoid that one. Thinking of Managing people at work :P. How's your timetable looking? Does it feel good to come back from ND?

    Is University overrated these days?

Honestly, what the fuck have you got against me? I have told you before that I did well enough to get into BPsych, or study at other uni's, plus I have a high enough GPA to transfer if I wish. I chose where I fucking went, I'm happy and I will get a career out of it. Pull your head out of...

    Importance of High School Reference

What, bitter because you keep getting rejected? There's a shortage of positions out there, it's not a fucking walk in the park. 1. It's not my fucking shop. 2. We still trial the kids, but they have all sucked so bad at working EVEN WHEN GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS that they hire people with...

    WSU Chatter Thread

Re: 2010 UWS Chatter Thread I'm considering pursuing HR management after uni, so I'd like to do a few business units over the next year. Starting off with first year ones, my knowledge of business is limited. Need rule waiver though, sigh. I've avoided going to other campuses til now :P

    Is University overrated these days?

And what if thpse "prestigious" degrees has no job opportunities, espectially if it's gained with poor marks? Sure, it's a nice piece of paper, but it won't help you in the dole line.

Go to your student centre with your student ID number and proof of ID, like a drivers licence. Step 7 Get your student ID card | University of Western Sydney (UWS)

    Student ID/Textbooks

Mine's two years old, so either I get it replaced next year if I'm still at UWS, or I "lose" it and pay to get it replaced...prob not the latter though.

    Student ID/Textbooks

The best time is before uni starts, the first week of uni has crazy queues! You can leave it two weeks into semester, but you'll fall behind on readings. If you can get second hand books, even better! Textbook Exchange - Welcome to Australia's largest second hand textbook site If you're...

    Is University overrated these days?

I think it's also seen as more socially acceptable in Australia to undertake a degree, that to not have one. When I was deciding what to do career wise and talking to others about my choices, it seemed like studying at uni (let alone only certain uni's) was the only option to many people and...

    In need of help :(

Yes, it is taught in the first semester. When it says the major isn't available for other students, it means you can't major in it, but there's nothing stopping you from doing the subjects as electives instead of doing the secondary subjects. Once you transfer, you'd receive credit for the units...

HSC course at Tafe, which one is better?

So all colleges in SWS are bad? Or just the one you studied at?

    How does uni work?

Try and plan similar timetables and choose what tutorials you want in advance, then make sure you both log onto Platform Web as soon as it opens to choose those times.

    In need of help :(

I would say choose units that the primary major has instead of the secondary units, and then transfer to the primary major after a semester or year. Double check at the advising session, but I'm sure you can do this. Even though I'm a normal BA student, I could choose subjects in the primary...

Health Science or Environmental science: need help deciding

I have a mate who did radiation therapy at USyd and was employed in western Sydney the year after she graduated. There are jobs out there, it may be super competitive though. My sister's mate did an environmental science major, graduated in 2007 and to this day is still in retail except for...

Question about online tutorials? For B Arts

It's only recently been introduced, because when I did Texts and Traditions it was run in person. I've had a few online subjects, basically they'll have detailed lecture notes on vUWS and/or a podcast of a lecture. Do you still have face to face tutes?
