BOS Trials is meant to be a lot harder than HSC exams
It's meant to be for the students who are comfortably in the high band 6 range to take their skills to the next level

Example of Saponification:
Glycerol + Stearic Acid ---> Glyceryl Tristearate + Water
Glyceryl Tristearate + Sodium Hydroxide ---> Sodium Stearate + Glycerol
So in a way, is glycerol being regenerated?
Only 2 passes :blink2:
What's the highest mark recorded for 2u BoS trials (from previous years)?
What percentage of the students who sat the test do only 2u?
Re: HSC 2015 2U Marathon
Yeah it's correct
Just a heads up though, markers (apparently) prefer if you draw an arrow to the x^2 = 4 saying "Reject/Disregard Since x has no real solutions (discriminant < 0)"
It will honestly depend on the difficulty of the exam
In 2013 the 2 unit exam faced criticism for its difficulty, it was reported that a raw mark of 92 aligned to a 97
Just aim to do your best - Don't spend too much time on questions you don't know how to do, just skip it and come back later...
Yes because the perpendicular distance will be the shortest distance from that point to the line
They often ask "Find the shortest distance from Point A to the line y = ... " and so you use the perpendicular distance formula
All of the websites I come across seem to say that its necessary to distil and remove fat droplets to complete the process and this also indicates when the process is complete :blink2:
Yeah try sleeping in a bit so you don't feel tired later on in the day
Also have lunch a bit earlier so that you can go to the toilet before the exam rather needing to take a dump during the exam
Mhhm I would give it for free if you're willing to travel
But ...
Would you have any spare computer parts by any chance in exchange? I'm planning on building a PC post-HSC
re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive
Oh crap I used the wrong acid gg
I wanted people to realise that using the sodium hydrogen carbonate will cause a neutralisation reaction which is EXOTHERMIC so the water is preferred ...
