What course has the highest average pay to graduates?

Managed Funds. However, I don't take income from my Indexed this, rather it's dividend re-invested automatically to purchase more units. Find a Managed Fund - Managed Funds Australia I'd strongly suggest that if you are considering investing in managed funds that you read the funds PDS and...

What course has the highest average pay to graduates?

It takes a lot more than just listening to Tom Petrovski every night to make good investment decisions. That's not to say following finance news in the media isn't a bad thing, especially for obtaining a broader perspective of things and attempting to gauge how the market has reacted to certain...

2009 official "funny quirks of my day" thread

This guy is a bit of a whack job though, and without knowing the full story I could see him (on a bad day) lashing out for no apparent reason. If you know Tim, you'll know he's not one to shy away from airing his opinions in tutes. What I know of the lecturer involved is that it seems he's...

Fun times. His lecturer is just an unstable guy, to say the very least.

    commerce (assumed and recomended)

Incorrect. I managed HD's for Micro and Macro and I hadn't done HSC Economics. I can't see how people would struggle if they also hadn't done it. Makes no difference.

Well yeah man, of course Actuary units draw on more advanced maths. I'm just saying in my experience, generally i've found that the maths components to the finance major in the Commerce degree isn't hugely advanced. May differ from uni to uni though.

    commerce (assumed and recomended)

Imo most Finance majors have pretty easy maths buddy. Nothing that you couldn't pick up from scratch if you applied yourself, even without an understanding of the fundamentals. Just my opinion though hey.

    The life of an iBanker

There's really no need to clarify though, I understand your view. I'm just saying that it's extremely naive to say that based off the article and her personal experiences, that's she soft. If you're placing the tag of 'soft' on her, you might as well place it on the other 30 or so graduates...

    International Students targetted for robberies

Teen gangs target students | The Australian Seems like there's proof that this is just as big of a problem outside of Newcastle. In other news, talking with the security guys, they seem to know exactly where they live (in Jesmond) as do the police. Hahaha two of the attackers that are 17 have...

Not even needed dude. The maths involved is pretty elementary.

Pretty obvious, if my guess based on their posting style is correct.

    The life of an iBanker

In all honesty Monstar, I am struggle to find any possible inference from this that she is just "not tough enough". Fair enough this is anecdotal, but it's pretty widely accepted that there's a fair bit of substance abuse involved. Other than that, is it reasonable to expect to be whisked back...

Are you qualified to make the assertion that she wasn't tough enough for it, though? Simple question to answer this would be: Do you work in IB currently?

You're forging ahead in your IB career, carving it up I hear? Congrats man. :partygirl: If you read the article fully you'd understand the means by which the girl was lead into IB.

    Fannys is for tryhards

Well yeah, it dawns on a few students once they progress through their uni years that the social events are there to be made, and not just organised for you. So bottom line is: uni can be a social place if you want it to be. But don't expect to get events and clubs served on a silver plate to...

    The life of an iBanker

Here's an article from The Guardian that I found really interesting. About a IBer in the UK that wrote a book titled "Golden Handcuffs". 'My high-flying City job was not worth a life of misery' | Money | The Observer I take my hat off to young IBer's at the top firms.
