    Should Maths be Compulsory?

Ah, English might be taught quite differently at our school (or maybe it's just our class). Our class is encouraged to have academic discussions about texts and come up with our own points and theses rather than that regurgitating other writer's works. We often end up in heated debates, since...

    Studywiz Learning Platform?

Yeah, I would surmise mainly private or affluent public schools use it as the program requires every student to have their own laptop and iPod. Just wondering if anyone here goes to one of those very rich schools. :) Oh and here's their current client list of Australian schools: Assumption...

    Novels!!!

You could always do your own research and read Shakespeare yourself. We're doing Emma for EX1 right now, and doing 'Protest' for Advanced. We've looked at Sigfried Sassoon's poems and Barack Obama's Philadelphia speech. All excellent, except maybe for Emma. We watched a hilarious...

    Studywiz Learning Platform?

Does your school use this program to teach? http://www.apac.studywiz.com/ What is it like, and would you say it is more useful than what is prescribed by most conventional schooling institutions?

Looking to buy a Laptop; Should I get a Mac OS or stick with a Windows OS?

My primary school had iMacs, but I don't remember what they were like, and that was back when all computers were fantabulously crap. Does anyone know whether or not a Mac OS can be put onto a laptop with a MS OS (in my case, I want to use a Sony Vaio)? Or are Vaios crap and I should stick with...

    Pamela Anderson on BB

Aww.. Alice inspired Brigitte to go to University, how touching is that? Just checked her profile and realised Brigitte is 20 and I don't think she'd want to redo the HSC, so I guess her parents will be paying for way in. Wonder if she'll be going to ANU (since she's from the ACT)...

    advanced english task

Look up Michael Gow's biography/autobiography or borrow it from your local library. If it is in depth enough, his biography should be able to help you cover all the subheadings you've listed.

    Pamela Anderson on BB

She's more interested in making her on show, the main reason she's on Big Brother. Imagine that, going on a show to make a show. And she's probably quite conceited, since she's so famous.

    Should Maths be Compulsory?

English has zero use of your brain? What on earth, says who and who's army? Besides, your argument employs the principle of Logos (and thus, logical deductive reasoning) to back up your argument, so how can you say english is useless? lol. That's just what it's like at our...

HSC STUDENTS: Have you ever had that feeling where you go: Fuck this, I quit!?

You must have a very conventional, rigid family IMO. Are you Asian, by any chance? (Yeah, I'm stereotyping, but it's true. :)) My mother's investment in my education actually motivates me (and I use motivate in lieu of a less-friendly word: pressure) to do well because I have this opportunity...

Cindy Crawford. And she doesn't need cosmetic surgery to be famous. Pamela Anderson = a living example of how a boob job can make you famous, IMO.

bogans with no jobs earn more than most of us will when we graduate

Don't be stupid, the government invade in our privacy more than enough, don't encourage them even more. And why would they spend so much money to ensure people don't misuse/trade their ruddy welfare payments if it's issued in the form of a food stamp? Food stamps are non-redeemable for cash and...

    Should Maths be Compulsory?

I disagree. English and Mathematics are both crucial to an Australian student 's education and you continue to use them even after you leave school. (no matter how much you'd like to argue that Essay writing and Permutations have no relevance to your intended career, it probably does :)) English...

Recommended Texbooks/Study Guides for Preliminary HSC?

Re: Recommended Texbooks/Study Guides? The Complete Idiot's Guide to Creative Writing is surprisingly quite helpful for Advanced English (completely useless for Extension English and don't buy it if you're already good at Advanced i.e. you're topping it), despite the patronising title. It...

Future Plans: What ATAR/course/job are you aiming for?

Re: What UAI are you aiming for? I am aiming for the best UAI I can get, lol. Not really sure at present, but I know I am aiming pretty high. I'll probably go into a course involving either Law, Economics, Commerce, Literature/Journalism and/or Arts and most likely do a combined degree.
