thats one thing we'll never truly know which are/were the seminal (s/p) text. Personally my English teacher turned me off nursery rhymes for ever last year when he said that most fairy tales have a deeper sexually rooted meaning. I'M NEVER GOING TO SEE HUMPTY DUMPTY THE SAME AGAIN :(
excluding school i have read according to my library card from the local library 45 books but i'm an extremely fast reader. And i know every novel i have borrowed out from the library I have read. for school i have read 4 books

yes the annoyance part did but the obsciene part of the law is still in place but is still really vague due to the concept of obscenity is different to each person. So basically yes lol.
i don't write essays based on the topic i write based on something else say a critical analysis on a book that i just read. (i use the concept that were focusing on and write about different texts that are not related to the text we are reading if you get what i mean)
lol thats how most people say they feel i believe. Plus it has taken me so long to write an essay correctly that i want to keep the method fresh in my mind.
Study to me is;
-Make notes (which invovles me reading ten tonne of stuff)
-Read notes
-Do maths questions that are not required for homework(same for chem)
-Write a practice essay for English or any other subject (hand that in and get marked)
-Make flash cards
-Then usually rewrite an essay...

i know of the book Heart of Darkness (in other words have read it but never studied it) and that seems to be (from memory) a major aspect of the story, that they try to find themselves in the world within they exist. (remember this is all from memory so may be wrong)
