Board Of Studies reveals raw marks - 2003

But that's only due to rounding - otherwise, the answer is no.

2004 Students Online - Expanding the service for HSC students

Unlikely. I believe it only permits you to correct personal details. Yes, but not before that.

    dilema with physics n BST

This will only happen when your Business Studies mark ends up being worse than your Physics mark (after scaling). Would you want the lower Business Studies mark to count instead? Ideally, you want to do well in both. Forget the technicalities and aim for that end. :)

    Raw band cut-offs. (Updated: 15/09/04)

Remember that the aligned marks (i.e. the marks you receive from the Board) have no effect on your UAI.

    4 unit and scaling

I'm not certain that this is true; 2U Maths and Extension 2 might be a special case. They are distinct and separate courses.

    maths moderation question

I'd have to disagree. Your examination mark and moderated assessment mark contribute EQUALLY to your HSC mark. Using your logic, we could argue analagously that a student ranked first (i.e. with the best moderated assessment mark) who does poorly in the exam will receive a poor HSC mark...

Board Of Studies reveals raw marks - 2003

It's naive comments like this which cause the Board to hide the data in the first place. You didn't 'only' get a 61 - your raw mark is not your 'real' mark. If you don't understand the relationship between raw marks and aligned marks and what sort of meaning can and can't be assigned to each...

    Help Please?

Aha! Rail Safety (General) Regulation 2003 (NSW) http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/nsw/consol_reg/rsr2003273/ Man, that was tedious.

    Help Please?

This regulation seems to be the most relevant: Police Department (Transit Police) Regulation 2000 (NSW) http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/nsw/consol_reg/pdpr2000420/ It appears as though the Commissioner can simply give instructions to the transit police willy nilly. I haven't been able...

I've had to revoke this change - it, unfortunately, also limited the number of smilies that can be included in a post. And we can't have that. ;)

    Way Behind

That's pretty much right - but remember it's not just the bottom student. If you had a large class, and you managed to get the student ranked last to improve significantly, that'd be great, but the student ranked second-last would still be pretty low... so they need to improve too... and...

What are aligned marks+question about dropping units!

An 'aligned' mark is one which is reported against the Board's official standards for a course. For example, an aligned mark of 70 is on the border between Band 3 and Band 4. It might have originally been a raw mark of 60 or even 80. You can access more information on the Board's aligning...

    Signature length

I've limited signatures to a maximum of one image. Unfortunately, there's no easy way to restrict the number of lines or the size of the image. Just notify one of us when a signature seems disproportionately large and we'll deal with it.

Yes. But try not to stuff up. :) Sefton is a public high school isn't it? If they keep refusing, you can access them with a FOI request. But they really shouldn't be refusing in the first place - you have no other way of knowing how you're performing relative to everyone else.

I thought that book of past exams (with solutions) made the discrete exam reasonably straightforward heh. Have they stopped recycling questions... ? Surely not...
