First Year Mathematics A (Differentiation & Linear Algebra)

Re: MATH1131 help thread Sorry about that Flop, misread the question. So if you follow what I mentioned before, you should end up with a list of complex numbers (let's say [C1,C2,C3,C4,C5]). To find the argument of these complex numbers, we can apply the argument command to each one, then end...

First Year Mathematics A (Differentiation & Linear Algebra)

    Re: MATH1131 help thread To find roots p(z) must =0. So the command looks like: solve(p(z)=0,z); That will give you a list of roots, but they're not numerical values. To find those, we use the evalf command. Your input should look like: evalf(solve(p(z)=0,z));

First Year Mathematics A (Differentiation & Linear Algebra)

Re: MATH1131 help thread Close, but maple can calculate all roots for a polynomial like that at once, so you don't need to specify an interval. Your first part, solve z for p(z)=0 is correct. This doesn't give numerical values though, so you need to use evalf.

What does the dot mean in the middle of chemical compounds?

I was taught that it was the ratio of a salt to its water in a hydrate. You might learn more about it when efflorescence and hygroscopy comes up. The only significance of the dot in HSC chemistry that I recall is that it denotes the ratio, like BlueGas said. IIRC, a hydrate has water as part of...

    Donald Trump

Is this the same Trump that says vaccines cause autism, that global warming is a myth? That donated towards Clinton in her 2008 campaign?

Materials Science and Engineering Students, where are you now?

I know of a few people who've done it. One's working at Bluescope Steel in Woollongong. One's working in the mines. A couple are QA testers. One's working to develop faster printers or something.

    Cvltural Maxism: Political Correctness/Feminism

Re: Cultural Marxism: Political Correctness/Feminism We are also killing innocent people with bombings and drone strikes. Do you think we should stop? Who do you think suffer the brunt of extremist violence, if not the muslims who live in their countries? Why do you think there were...

    Cvltural Maxism: Political Correctness/Feminism

Re: Cultural Marxism: Political Correctness/Feminism >Implying that we can only deal with one issue at a time >Implying that fear-mongering about terrorism to detract attention from social issues is something we should be doing I agree that we need to tackle terrorism, but that shouldn't hold...

    Cvltural Maxism: Political Correctness/Feminism

Re: Cultural Marxism: Political Correctness/Feminism Probably the most idiotic thing you could say if you are against immigrants who are/ become terrorists. This sort of thing is exactly what causes it. Stripping them of their rights and removing support for them will only aggravate &...

    Quotes?

How are you guys going for quotes? How many are you using in your essays? I've been told to use 4-6 quotes each essay, but it's going to be tough memorising that number for each topic and each possible question.

Not many, and you'd most likely need a PhD if you wanted to work in biotech/ research.

Nubile is an adjective, not a noun. Also, try to keep your tense consistent.

Plebian is actually an alternate spelling of plebeian, not a spelling mistake.
