My attitude was that while I think there is a place for learning about Islam, I think there's alot of other things we're neglecting to teach that are far more important which we should sort out before we do so. Alot of religious people are exposed to science at the highschool/elementary level...

I'd like to know why Australians should in particular know about Islam? I mean personally I'm in favour of teaching such important things, but before we taught people about Islam I'd have a long list of things in front of it.
