I personally did better in prelim extension english than advanced, and also if I were you I'd just do physics and chem in year 11 then drop down to senior science if you felt it was hard :) it's not good to deny yourself a chance then go 'maybe if..', just do it first

to OP: since you're given the opportunity to do 2U, you should before the half yearlies take the time to really drill into the content and aim to get like 50%+, dropping to general isn't always a great idea but if you really feel you can't keep up with 2U then just drop it and divert your focus...

we went to the UNSW info day and met this 3rd year engineering student, he said he only did 2U maths and it was still fine and of course he said he had to maintain his effort against people who did 3U and 4U already so to not cave in due to the maths content

advanced, the workload is more or less the same as standard but as others have said it's harder to do as well in standard. Only the texts are different, but if you want the best atar as possible by all means do advanced, standard is not by any means a lot easier
