Transferring from UWS Law to UNSW/ANU

People have actually done what you've suggested so it isn't that strange - transferring back and forth. Firstly, I would highly recommend NOT doing JD. It is expensive and given the legal market atm and in the foreseeable future - it is simply not worth it unless you consider yourself an...

    UMAT cutoffs

From strolling through medstudentonline - the cutoff for JMP was 60 for S1 in 2013 I think. Basically, to maximise your chances - smash S1 and S2 (JMP and UWS). But I have friends who got unsw offer with 49 in S2 but 99tile in both S1 and S3 so just depends what you're aiming for. I had a...

    free umat resources?

Youtube!! Although i just scraped through with my 1 week prep listening to youtube videos it definitely helped. There were some things such as s3 i felt could have been mastered if i started earlier so you might want to start from now.

Economics major at UNSW vs USYD

I feel as though there is very little value add in going through and looking at specific units at this stage. Ask JasonG, he's in pre honours econ and I walk past the econ tutorial he assists in every week so he's in a good position to comment on the quality of undergrad econ and the...

Have a look through past BCG scholars to see 'prospects' of usyd finc/eco. JasonG has it right.

    Fight of the century!

Neither really care. Both will be treated as legends. With regards to all the hype and 'bandwagons'. Boxing is definitely not a 'mainstream' sport but I'm sure most people who follow sports generally are aware of mayweather and equally of Pacquiao. They would also have some understanding of the...

    Comm/Law Transfer from UTS

Depends on how many units. I would obviously be trying to pull my mark up but 79 looks good to me (a bit borderline) but it should be fine. Although hard to tell because usyd transfers have tightened up quite a bit following the ATAR reduction. Try pull it up to 82-3 to be safer.

    Dating your tutor at uni?

If tutors are Honours students, 4th/5th year, while their gf/bf is in a 5 year double degree, it's not really that rare. No, not every lecturer is old. But still lecturer is on another level. Tutors are aight.

    I heard a rumor today...

Lol people with arts degrees are getting into medicine so obviously that isn't true. Isn't that exclusively for Monash students? Aren't you in UNSW? Yeah, being top 50 in biomed degree with around 800 students isn't that difficult. But I imagine the degree will attract higher calibre...

    Dating your tutor at uni?

lol pretty sure everyone has at some point found a tutor/lecturer attractive. Yeah you can date your tutor. There are plenty of tutors who just happen to tutor a class their girlfriend/boyfriend is taking.

    Was this fair?

Everyone loses referencing marks in the first uni assignment. Its your job to make sure the substance of your assignment (i.e. your actual essay) is good enough to offset these loss of marks. Its fair Because every student was subject to this this guideline and there was no special individual...

Does university of Sydney do a combined degree like UNINSW? Commerce/Media

Do arts. I know people at usyd who did general maths and failed our first year intro stats course twice. If you put in a lot of effort, you should be able to get through though. Ater that you don't need maths.

    uni workload

They don't fail people in law because it absolutely recks their progression. But really a pass average is useless so its akin to failing In terms of getting a job. Any idiot who does some study and memorise the law will get a pass. I will have to say that, i found hsc much more stressful. Uni...

    Finance Cadetships

Nope and as far as I'm aware, none in divisions you actually want to be in. For good reasons, most hsc kids don't know what banks do other than holding your deposits.

    answering law questions

As above, think of yourself as an arbitrator looking at both sides and weighing their arguments (up to you to come up with arguments in the first place). But also note that although saying "i think" may be ok, better to say stuff like "it seems to be" " it appears that" or when you're feeling...
