You put in what you want to get out. I don't think that finance is hard but that's relative to the treatment of the material I've had in my actuarial units. I would suggest just doing what you can manage, but in saying that you should go to the uni that's best for you, not just which is closest...
oh hey i did 171 last sem. I guess unless you live close to uni/on campus condense ur timetable as much as possible and take advantage of night classes.

It will all pretty much depend on how u go in your HSC exams. There's no real limit. But make sure with all your internal results as long as ur coming first, your marks dont matter. Prepare for the final exams and their difficulty etc.

You can apply for special consideration but there's a cap of 5 units a sem. You have to convince them to allow you to do that many. Trust me a double degree or 4 units a sem is plenty unless you like live on campus and dont have a job then 5 could be possible.
I suppose its like anywhere you go, you have good and bad lecturers/tutors. Personally I have found Macquarie to be very student based and my lecturers/tutors for my actuarial units have been exceptional. As for other units such as economics/accounting/maths etc. it has been hit and miss...
