    Stressing about Mathematics...

Yeah if you want to be, say an English teacher, lawyer or journalist or do a Bachelor of Arts, then no, Maths is not required at all (see my signature too)

    Studying For School Certificate

Our school doesnt look at SC but they look at our results over the past two years to see if we are consistent workers.

how do u find ur school ranks?

Exactly, the school does not make a difference. My school always has numerous high achievers {95-100} and our school is ranked in the early 300s. If you work hard and want to do well, the school you go to is completely irrelevant. And if you do feel it is detrimental to your mark, then stop...

    expensive?

Yeah, I agree- unless you are practically failing or have super crap teachers where you learn nothing, I don't really see the point. I know for a lot of people it's good because you learn discipline and how to study effectively and things like that. I guess I'm lucky that my teachers actually...

    Sc Maths 5.1

Yeah thats true, the majority are 5.1 an 5.2, but some are 5.3 to determine those who are at the top of 5.2/bottom of 5.3/top of 5.3 etc

    School Certificate

I'm actually not freaking out that bad, but for me when I slack off, the visual image of me opening up the Board of Studies folder and seeing low bands is motivation to study and do well. Call me crazy, but hey that's just me.

    School Certificate

10th of November, the day after my birthday go me! :uhoh: Do we still do the computer exam thing, what a waste of time, because we didn't do a trial for it... I know people above us in yr 10 say that its easy and a bludge and not to study, but I fear that if i do not study then i...

Tips for good exam creative writing

Creative writing is the hardest I reckon. For our trial SC we had to do this creative and the exam was 2 hours and everyone I know just whizzed through it because it's English and it's "easy". So they all finished with an hour/45 mins to go, but instead I took my time, paced myself and actually...

Australian History and Geography tested together?

In our school, we learn the SC history course at the same time as geography but only have 2 periods of history, and then 2 periods of geography a week. In the exam, the teachers allocate an hour for us for each subject as opposed to us managing our time, which has its pros and cons. Only 5...

    Multiple choice

My maths teacher told us that last year one girl spent all her time on the maths paper doing the long response questions, so she had five minutes left to do in the multiple choice so just coloured in whatever circle she liked and only lost 10 marks for multiple choice. In situations like...

    science study notes

My advice for science is to get one of those excel books or just do past papers, because the science exams aren't really full of 'content', they're more just scenarios where you apply knowledge... It is recommended that yrs 9-10 work is studied, and you can find notes for it in the yr 10 sc...

    Multiple choice

That's actually quite true, someone may just colour in a random circle for every question and get full marks, whereas someone who actually knows their content may not do as well as they second guessed themselves: it's not an effective method of testing someone at all... Mutliple choice is icky.

    Senior uniforms

Um hello so true. Some of us attend Private schools where they are just installing air con now, but the classrooms dont have them yet ( the library has about 11 airconiditioners), so us girls just swelter in our lame thick dresses.

    English trials.

Well we had 5 assessment tasks as well as half yearlies, trials and sc so our school likes to 'prepare' us....

    Multiple choice

Yeah english is the worst- its all too subjective and usually the two which are most correct sound both correct! Maths mc is also a bit dodgy- i just work it out on the calculatr and circle which ever answer is remotely similar
