SENG1031 (Software Engineering Workshop) For GenEd

There's not much to do for COMP for a gen ed after those 2. http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/vbook2014/brGenEdByFaculty.jsp#Faculty%20of%20Engineering I would recommend COMP2041, not a gen-ed. There's ENGG1811 (VBA & Matlab), COMP1400 (Java, may be too easy), COMP3511 (no coding, focused on UI &...

SENG1031 (Software Engineering Workshop) For GenEd

You're not enrolled in a Software Engineering Program and this would not be the course for you (barely or no coding). You should do COMP1917 instead. The Gen Ed part probably apply if you were in the Software Engineering degree and did this course then transferred to another degree outside...

Want to do a mid-year transfer, possible?

COMP1917 would be counted as your Gen-Ed course, and your 3 other subjects (assuming they are phys/math/engg1000) will be counted as free electives.

    MATH1231 Lecturers?

Lecturers may change. Stream 1: Uses the overhead projector a lot, may be prone to mistakes Stream 2: Never had them. Stream 3: Greenhill (haven't lectured MATH1231 in the past 5 years), however heard she's good...

You should have a choice, try talking to the CSE Student Office and/or the Mech Engineering First Year Director and state what the Engineering Student Office said and what's written in the handbook. It wouldn't make sense forcing someone to do COMP1917 if you're not a CSE major. It's like...

    ENG1811 is hard??

Depends. If you're good in Maths, you may understand MATLAB easier and you might do courses later on that requires the use of MATLAB, just be careful about syntax.

    ENGG1000 Projects

I think that if you commenced Mechatronic before 2014, you can do ENGG1811 because you don't have to do ELEC2141 and COMP2121. If you started this year, you have to do COMP1911/17 because you need to do COMP2121 and it has prerequisites (something may change. Either the prerequisites will be...

Few could mean that those who got distinction didn't want to do it, and some of those that wanted it, didn't get distinction. I guess <10 ppl would have done/will be doing it.

A mark of 75 in COMP1911 and completion of the bridging course to get into COMP1927 in semester 2 or do COMP1921 in semester 2 then COMP1927 in Summer and you would probably be in the same speed as the others.

I know some first years (first semester undergraduate) doing COMP9447 (Security Workshop), which is open for both undergraduates and postgraduates, but has prerequisites of getting a Credit in COMP3331, and that has a prerequisite of COMP1921 or COMP1927 or MTRN3500, all of those has...
