    Acoustic Impedence Problem

Hey guys, Just need a bit of help with part of a question from Jacaranda. 8. (a) Using the data from table 18.2, calculate the acoustic impedance of: (i) soft tissue (ii) bone of density 1600 kg m−3. (b) Calculate the ratio of the amplitudes of reflected and transmitted ultrasound traveling...

LOL - I think that's why I chose Medical. My school offers medical and quantum and I chose medical, because well - it seems easier.

    Simple Ideas to Implementation Question

Hey guys, I have this simple Ideas to Implementation question, but I can't seem to get the correct answer. A red laser emitting 600nm wavelength light and a blue laser emitting 450 nm light emit the same power. Compare the rate of emitting electrons. Thanks guys.

    UBS Cadetship 2010

I'm not sure if you're refering to me or not but I actually completed the questions, it's just that when I clicked 'Review All' there appeared to be unanswered questions, however I emailed the director and she said 'your experience of not answering all the questions have NOT affected your...

    Induction concluding statements

I used to be confused with these statements as well, however at a Catholic Education Office 4U day, I was told by some marker from Reddham House that the statement isn't important. So now I just write something like 'Hence true py process of mathematical induction.'

    UBS Cadetship 2010

They do time us. I did it when I got the email - better to get it over and done with. Only problem I had was when I clicked 'review all' - there were a whole bunch of new questions which loaded unanswered and I didn't have time to answer those - so yeah, I don't know if that'll affect my...

    UBS Cadetship 2010

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone else here made it to the third part of the application (the online competency test). Cause I'm not sure if they've selected anyone, or if everyone gets to sit the test.

Hey Namu! Yeah it's been ages man! I've been ok, trying to make the most out of the time we have left. Only a few months until we're done. What about you? How have you been?

NSW to dump UAI! New Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR)

Re: NSW to dump UAI! Not really. Although there are prestigious universities in the other states, like as you said Monash and the ANU in Canberra, the MAJORITY of universities people aim for would be in Sydney or Melbourne. Like I'm sure a LOT more people want to go to the University of Sydney...

NSW to dump UAI! New Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR)

Re: NSW to dump UAI! What's confusing me is how they're going to do it? Like there'll be a lot more brighter kids that we're competing with. Also (no offense to the other states) but I'm pretty sure the HSC is of a much higher standard than many other credentials (such as the NTSC for...

NSW to dump UAI! New Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR)

Re: NSW to dump UAI! This is bullshit to me. Hope they keep all the scaling of subjects the same. I don't know how scaling works in the other states, but I hope they adjust it to our system. Also for everyone who's interested, log on tommorow morning

Can someone please proofread my work - Conics

Hello guys, I was wondering if someone could proof read my work for me. The answer is b^2, however I keep on getting a -b^2, and I cannot see where I've made my error. The question states: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"><meta name="ProgId"...

    Conics - Ellipses

Yeah, you're right. I got the question out already, had to find the chord PQ, then find the intercept. Then you use the gradients and since you know they're perpendicular, you use that to find the value of the intercept to prove it's a constant. But thanks anyway.

    Conics - Ellipses

Hello guys, I was wondering if anyone could help me with this question. I don't know how to get it in terms of one angle. P(acosθ, bsinθ) and Q (acosα, bsinα) lie on the ellipse x^2/a^2 + y^2/b^2 = 1. Find the eqn of the chord PQ. Hence show that if PQ subtends a right angle at the point A(a,0)...

    gaps between ranks

Not true. Last year we got about 15 Band 6s for Mathematics 2U. However many who were ranked between 10-20 didn't achieve a Band 6 and I was ranked 22nd and I still got a Band 6. Personally, I think it all depends on your performance in the external examination. Your internal assessment will...
