    How much harder is 4 units compared to 3 units?

    4u isnt as difficult as everyone says, except for the later questions. If you use cambridge questions 1-3 only require a few steps working out, whilst further on it may take up to a page. If you were only looking at the questions and it was a few words, dont expect it to be no. of words = no. of...

    Please help me to solve this?

    this is a stupid question really xD It doesnt tell you if its overdue or not and by how many months. So you will probably assume that it is one month which is what the previous poster did. If its 3 months you put 3/12 instead of 1/12 etc. :D

    ATAR of 93+

    I reckon standard maths will not be counted in your 10 units if you're not top 10 in grade. I say top 3 in standard is practically top 30 in advanced o-o so you will get scaled down a lot, considering that there are other people who do harder maths than you. One wrong in standard maths school...

    Asymptote : re- curve sketching

    Thanks untouchable. How would you know when to find obliques though? Before you re-arrange it, its hard to see, and you wouldn't have time in a test to re-arrange equations. Being able to limit an equation will probably require 30 secs, and i wouldn't want to waste that for each graph question...

    Asymptote : re- curve sketching

    How would you find the oblique asymptotes of a implicitly differentiated graph? Sketch the graph of x^2 - 4y^2 = 4 I've got no horizontal tangents Vertical tangents : ( -2 , 0) , (2 , 0) The obliques are y = +- (1/2)x How do i find them? Help please :hat:

    Curve sketching

    How do you know it goes away from y= 3x -> i'm not sure where y= 3x comes from After you lim the dy/dx you get = 3 But how does it become y=3x Thats why im confused :confused:
  20. F

    Curve sketching

    Hmm probably. dy/dx= (6rootx + 3x) / 2 root x right? now if split the fraction up 3 + (3x/ 2 rootx) = dy/dx when x->0+ dy/dx = 3 but how do you get y = 3x and how do you know if its a horizontal Btw i got the point (4,4) now, don't need to explain that. But the y = 3x asymptote would help...
