So would solving dy/dx be a one-line answer?

    Calculus Queries

    I'm just wondering how I should set out working for a question that asks dy/dx. I use the easy method (dunno what it's called). eg. Find dy/dx for: 2x^3 + x^2 + 3x + 8 f'(x) = 6x^2 + 2x + 3 Do I have to state that I'm using this method or anything else before I answer f'(x)? Ta =]

    what are you dropping?

I want to drop Ext1 English and Software Design, but I'll have to pick up 4U maths since I'm doing 12 units at the moment. =/ At least maths deals with straight logic rather than the battle of opinions found in English -_-.

    Educational VB Project!

I've pretty much finished mine - it's a kind of race to the finish. Each time you enter the correct answer, your avatar moves 20 pixels to the right. Each time you get one wrong, it moves 10 pixels to the left. Your goal is to reach the finish line (which is on the right hand of the screen =p)...

    English EXT

I don't like ext. english much at the moment. You know how we're supposed to have class discussions? Yeah, well we have teacher discussions. It's so dull. I want to drop ext english and software next year, but that means I'll have to pick up another unit (4U maths =/). Dunno what I'll do...

    maths abbreviations

Aplus is right, make sure you don't get these mixed up. Parallel and similar are both two very different concepts. I was told by my maths teacher that we shouldn't use; alt. supp. comp. corresp. co-int. <'s (angles) Instead, he told us to write out the full words, just so we don't risk...

    2008 Maths Competition

Re: Maths Competition My god, EVERYONE got screwed over from behind in this test. Even the 4-unit accelerants in my year said it was ridiculous. I'm proud I got the Triangle:Semicirlce one right - I subbed the radius for 1, thus length of one side = 2. I can't remember what I put down. I'd...

    Ideas for a Movie/Video

You should do a poll on this sort of thing. Think of it from our point of view. We've all been drilled with the 'save our environment!' info from years of Geography or whatever, and in my opinion, I'm pretty sick of it. That rules out wildlife, recycling and the documentary, UNLESS you're doing...

    Chemistry Strikes Again!

Hehe no worries. I'd include the reaction formula, molar and volume ratios in the process, then finish with the statement. My chem teacher works incredibly fast when he explains these things, and often only comes up with that amount of data for his answer. Nevertheless, I was just wondering if...

    Chemistry Strikes Again!

I seriously doubt I would need to explain Guy Lussac's law. I might need to state that "Since all components are gases and the same temperature and pressure applies, assume Guy Lussac's law." Actually, I seriously doubt I would need to even state that. Marks are given for working and correct...

    Chemistry Strikes Again!

Sorry, but I really need to check these answers =P What volume of oxygen is required for the complete combustion of 125mL of butene gas (C4H8) and what volume of CO2 is formed? (All volumes are measured at the same temp. and press.) Since they're all gases at the same temperature and pressure...
