Re: Wow, fuck that part (ii). I thought it was just dV/dt = dl/dt x dV/dl

no :(. I just thought i must have been wrong. What was the value of the time?

You were supposed to get a negative time???? I got the negative time and tried to figure out what was wrong but couldn't see anything so i just left it.

    cutoffs.

    I reckon i'll end up on 45-50/84.

Re: Holy Fuckaroni Ended up rushing too much at the end. Did reasonbly on Q 1-4. 5,6 and 7 i did poorly.

I got absolutely smashed. Went alright up until q5 then got hammered.

That's the plan for me too. Just hope to god that i can get out the projectile motion question. Sometimes i can ace them but other times i just can't figure em out.

    Mathematics solutions

Bound to be a couple silly ones throughout. I forgot +c as well on the hence integrate question in Q4.

    Estimate your 2U mark :)!

After looking at the solutions thread. 107-110/120. I'm happy with that. Couple silly mistakes and question 9 messed me up a bit but the goal was band 6 so it's all good.

    Mathematics solutions

The answers in the first post for question six are correct. The area from 0 to 2pi is 8 and the value from pi/2 to 2pi is -2. Value can be negative, area no.

    Q9c

I screwed this one up, made a super stupid mistake. But how many marks do you think i'd get for drawing the curve above, except i started it from below the axis, and the asymptote was above the axis. It still cut at 1, had stat point at 3 (although max), and asymptote.

    Mathematics solutions

    A1 = 29227(1.005) + M(1.005) A2 = 29227(1.005)^2 + M(1.005)^2 + M(1.005) = 29227(1.005)^2 + M(1.005 + 1.005^2) A3 = you get the point An = 29227(1.005)^n + M(1.005+1.005^2+...+1.005^n) = 29227(1.005)^n + M(a(r^n-1)/(r-1)) After 240 months An = 800000. So solve the equation when n =...

    Marking?!

You will lose 1 mark, because the marking criteria will say 1 mark for correct solution.

    Mathematics solutions

fuked up on 4(e) but i realised that when i first looked back over the paper. Will still get 1 mark for 1 correct inequality. Other than that everything looks good. Confident that i am 100+/120, after seeing this i think my mark should be up near 110.

    Extension 1

ahhh alright. I reckon i'll be pretty lucky to get E4. But who knows. Should get 40+ anyways.

    General Thoughts: Mathematics

You should still pick up a mark because the sequence would still be the same, just the wrong value in the end. You would have just ended up with the amount of cents, in dollars.

    Extension 1

I'd like to get a top band though. What would 70% raw scale to? I've been getting like high 60s (percentage) in most past papers. 2008 was just a bad one for me. I'm about to do 09 now.

    General Thoughts: Mathematics

    When you worked out r in terms of P that gave the max area in (iii), you get r = P/4 (4r = P). But P= r(theta + 2), from (i) 4r = r(theta + 2) 4 = theta + 2 theta = 2. I didn't even realise you could use part (i) to work it out. I forget exactly how i did it, but i used the equation for...

    Extension 1

I've been getting just under 70% for most past papers for ext1. Just did 2008 and got fuking raped.... Not a big confidence booster. Only got 55% =/. I have been aiming for 70% raw and have been doing that in other past papers. What has 2009 and 2010 been like compared to 2008, if anyone knows?
