What about University of Notre Dame? If you're so desperate to do law, but don't want to do it at UWS, their ATAR cut off for law is 90. Just a suggestion, don't crucify me. If not, just do another degree for a year and transfer. Not the end of the world :)
You say that French is not your best subject, obviously you can't drop it. If you're really concerned, drop history extension and spend that extra time studying/practicing your french either with a tutor or by yourself. 10 units, for some, may be risky. But if you know that they will all count...
If no local schools will take you, what about private/religious-affiliated schools in the area? I'm just assuming you've only applied to local public schools, but maybe give those schools a go. They also offer really good academic programs and opportunities too. Don't discount them.
Give yourself a strict 45 minute time limit, and see if you can actually write 1300 words in that time. If not, then you definitely know you need to cut down. 1000-1100 should be a reasonable aim.
