    no maths for med sc?

Really? I asked the lecturers (UTS) b4 entering into the course whether i needed calculus or not and he said no. Similarly the stuff people are learning in stats doesn't require any calculus-related stuff. Or maybe it's just first year, maybe in 2nd year we'll need calculus?

    no maths for med sc?

It depends on the science. If it's physics then prepare for some crazy maths. If it's chemistry/bio all you need is statistics (which you have not learnt in the hsc). Medical science doesn't involve much maths, it's just statistics. (Well @ UTS don't know about other unis)

    Transferring withing my faculty

Well, biomed engineering is basically science. So in the end it's a bit hard to gain any career progression as the science field in Australia is a bit dead. Biomed is more of an innovative subject where you sell ideas. I've also heard a lot of people finding difficulty in gaining any job...

    What's uni like??

Plenty of asians at eco. The only courses where you won't see as much asians are probably arts, media and low atar cut-off courses

    What's uni like??

4 hours rehearsals for what? Commerce? Or you talking about a drama subject or something?

    What's uni like??

2 hour tuts are nothing we have 3 hour pracs :P And what do you mean we can cover alot of the work at uni? After we're done with the lectures we still have to go home to practice all the maths and problem solving questions (most courses are like that)

    What's uni like??

Yeah but the time required to travel to MQ kind of cancels that out :P

    What's uni like??

Finance and eco @ MQ right? My friend is doing that course right now, he also gets 13~15 hours

    What's uni like??

If you double degree commerce with economics or arts it's still around 13 hours. Those courses in general just has less hours. If you double commerce with engo/science then you get 17 hours + (assuming that you picked two engo/science sub and two commerce sub)

    What's uni like??

Yeah commerce is around 13 hours a week, whereas the science/engo students get around 20~25 hours (no exaggeration)

    What's uni like??

Yeah that's why i think it's a lot easier, you get less lectures + more time to study + more time to go out Where as science/engineering you're constantly trying to catch up

    What's uni like??

The asian to white ratio at UTS is quite even i'd say. And the difficulty of uni depends on your course. If you pick commerce, commerce/arts or commerce/eco you would be cheering as they do the least amount of hours (3 days a week). If you pick something like engineering or science then uni...

Wanting to do a health-realted career but bad at Chemistry?

If you're doing bad in chemistry then you'll most likely dread any science degrees (unless you're majoring physics or something). Chemistry is the foundation for all science, and to further worsen your position there are two parts to chem i.e. Chem 1, Chem 2 (which a billion times harder than...

    Bachelor of science

Science in general have unstable/insecure job prospects. The only "secure job" you can get from science is research. However, with the future cut in research funds it will severely affect research prospects. On the other hand, if you can predict which scientific discipline will become...

Which is the best uni for business/commerce/economics?

Re: Is B economics better at USYD or UNSW??? also................................... Getting a job based purely on economics is as hard as a scientist becoming employed. I would suggest you to take a bachelor of com/eco, so if you're unable to get your desired job you can shift towards commerce...

    ATAR estimate

Wait i dont get it, why would the class affect his mark? If his in rank 1 (assuming that he maintains this rank) in everyone shouldn't he be determining all his hsc marks by himself?

    to get 96

You can use your school cert as toilet paper, it means absolutely nothing I just touched b5 in eng for school cert, but managed to score a b6 in std eng at the end.

    question about atar cutoffs

Well looking at your sig it looks like u want adv maths and commerce. Commerce has an excessive demand, and it will most likely increase next year, i'm guessing that it will increase by 0.5. ADV maths on the other hand, doesn't have as much demand. However since you're going for both, expect it...
