General Thoughts: English Paper 1 (AOS)

Did anyone else aim to write about 2000 words but then ended up writing over 9000? I think I may have gone a bit overboard with the short response.

Imagine if Papa reappeared in the AOS paper?

From Text 3: "At times it seemed as if Papa was on the brink of remembering" Remembering the SC obviously

General Thoughts: English Paper 1 (AOS)

section 1 hopefully the best as I spent way too long on it ~50 minutes farrkk. Creative was eh, but at least it used the stimulus as a complete central theme and the essay well, i have no idea. Once sentence conclusion ftw.

    Section 2 - Creative Writing

Used the fishing and changed my story virtually completely except for the my intro and outro which I moulded to fit the question. Pretty much used the tacklebox as an extended metaphor for the relationship between the kid and his grandfather and him looking back and discovering the box when his...

    Essay structure for tomorrow.

probably best to go with your prescribed first ie: Thesis 1 Shown in text 1 Shown in text 2 Thesis 2 Shown in text 1 Shown in text 2 etc If you are using 3 related texts (I have 3 that I will pick/choose depending on the question) just vary the text two to text three to suit.

Anybody wanna make bets on paper 1 Theme?

Well I have prepared 20+ quotes so pretty ready for anything. Going on something like community/individuality, in a sense that both can either create belonging or not-belonging.

question about length of essay on the writing booklet

I believe so yes. Probably a smart idea as the ladies are usually slow and running out of paper disrupts your flow entirely.

    Australian National Chemistry Quiz Results

HD here also. Forgot my raw mark for it, but the cutoff was around 26/30? i think. Good exam, love these types of tests as it doesn't require 'memorising' crap, its actual application through the question.

    Can we draw/sketch freehand? -2U &3U

when copying diagram depending on it I either just trace it neatly or use a compass and ruler (doesn't take that long). Its neater and easier to use to see what you want to do, esp for complicated circle geometry questions. Sketching a curve yes definitely use a ruler for the number plane and...

    Circle Geometry

not sure about 1. but for 2. is just the definition - opposite angles are supp in a cyclic quad 3. line bisects an angle? depends on the line etc. but look at the sim arc/chord and use the other formulas to help you. No too sure, mainly just thinking

    Physics Band 6

Fairly sure it is only rank. The whole way how they put 'assessment mark' isn't really 'true'.

    Physics Band 6

If you are ranked first assessment mark does matter (as far as I know) The final mark will be 50% your hsc mark (assuming you get band 6 :D) and 50% the relative other person's hsc mark dependant on your ranking. In this sense, as long as you don't loose your ranking, your final mark should be...

    Cssa physics 2012

I love astrophysics, first one we did. Don't like Idea and Implementations too much because soo much history stuff. Also never learnt diodes etc. Some of it (superconductors) is good. Looking forward to the exam.

    2012 CSSA Maths 2U

Re: Thoughts on CSSA 2U Mathematics Exam?? no idea on the probably section. To be honestly probably around an 85+ just because I would have lost so many mark on the probability shit and on a few other bits which I was like wtf (the interest one? with the 250/month - no idea how to do)

STATE RANKING CHEM (3rd) AND BIO (12th) and MODERN NOTES

Thanks heaps man, Really great notes, really detailed, covered EVERY single topic which even in my classes we tend to miss out on one or two things. Better than any other books/online study guides I have seen. The lesson plans are quite awesome. Will be really great for HSC learning. Cheers!

Ah righto. Interesting, Ill make sure too read the questions thoroughly then. Chemistry wasn't bad, some bits were a bit "well this is weird" but I answered everything and got everything except for like 1 or 2 multiple choices (like the glucose - cellulose one). How did you go?

Haha. Yes! it got changed to NaF(s) Our teacher actually picked that up like one or two days ago and emailed/rang the CSSA and made them change it/edit it as NaI is neutral and doesn't work with the question. Yea, I got it (pretty much) Let me try and explain. NaF is a basic salt. The reaction...
