Casuals don't get to write an adjustment in my store. What do you mean 'if you're allocated an hour'? In my agreement it says you can take an hour for lunch but if you like you can only take 30 min (and get paid for that extra 30 min).

lol odd story about departments not coming down... I usually make standard PA calls: "Grocery, service 40 to register 5, grocery". A customer needed a price check on something without a barcode so I called a service 40 to my register using the nearby PA (on a different register, but that's a...

No idea, but what happened? Are you allowed to say? I want to know the gory details! I wouldn't want Woolworths to book my doctors appt. I'd want to go to my own doctor lol

...this can happen on any register... someone can just force their way through. But you're right: it is a security risk.

To be safe it's best to sign out. This is because if you take a 30 min break and don't sign out for it the payroll people might take out a whole 60 min because they didn't know how long you took. The People Planner grids usually show 60 mins so sign out and sign in when you're done! edit: plus...

The service desk is fine, and in my store it's OK for you to go grab customers from other checkouts to come use the SCOs. Anywhere else is out-of-bounds. I think that's the national policy.

Tea breaks (10-15 min breaks) - no, you don't sign off (paid). Meal breaks (30-60 min breaks) - sign off (unpaid). Sign back on when done.

Rule #1 of being a SCO attendant according to my trainer. You've gotta have someone in the area at all times while your store is open.

Yes, but tell someone - preferably your svr - (with your voice :) ) before touching the smokeshop money. lol in my store the attendants just do the calls themselves. Unlucky :P

Thanks MMacka. Re the last WA agreement, how long did that take to get passed and implemented from the date of announcement to implementation? I really really really want a pay rise!

mathew I would be careful about using the Woolworths logo as your avatar... may be misconstrued as representing the company as people are hyper-sensitive nowadays... just my $0.02. Maybe with the national agreement you Victorians might get a pay decrease :P

re junior wages, 50% is the rate at 16 years of age in NSW/ACT. It's 40% below that.

MMacka, did the poster say what the pay rise would be?

Paid? Well, that's OK then. Hopefully the shocking under 17 rate will lift a bit for WA. $6.99 for part-timers is awful!

I thought it was 30... yep, just checked the agreement. It says the following (paraphrased): You can work 30 ordinary hours per week if you're a casual. However, for a period not in excess of 4 consecutive weeks, you can work for 38 hours. That's from the WA SDA agreement. By the way, if...

Technically it's under 17 I think. Or at least that's what I think it is in my state. Check your agreement if you want to be sure.
