social life, better campus, better transport, seems pretty good for maths (didnt compare it to unsw on open/info day though) and job placement for commerce seems better than unsw.

well, regarding the asian population. It's much higher at UNSW which was the only uni i was really considering. and leadership positions are important i guess. But i dunno if selecting UWS or Macquarie just cause leadership positiions are easier to get is a very wise option...

im majoring in maths and usyd seems better for that but unsw probably a little better for the actual sciency subjects. don't really care if unsw has an edge in commerce or science too much to be honest. i prefer to have a better social life, and after going to 2 UNSW open days, 1 usyd open day...

exact same position as you. 96.00 going for comm/science (same cutoff) and 2nd pref was the same degree at unsw. but i really wanna go to usyd. if i didnt get a text does that mean the cutoff jumped up past 96 this year? :/

actually you'd probably still get in since they offer up to 5 bonus points which pretty much everyone gets as long as you did extension units in either maths or english.

tell me about it! 4U scaaling is mental, but it's fair. i put in soooo much more work to get 82 in 4u than any other subject.

no. uni is high school all over again with no change whatsoever. be ready to live the next 3+ years out in isolation.

start with 12 then if you hate a subject or suck at it drop to 10. personally, i did 12 throughout and by the end i 'knew' that one subject was probably gonna get edged out by another. Then I got my marks i stuffed up chem and got 89 and 88 in another and all the calculators said the 89 in...

wtf, at the bottom they say 'raw mark = x/100' but apparently that's ACTUALLY the weighted mark (after options). why would they say raw and mean weighted. and the woman on the phone from BoS had almost no idea what was happening with marks, scaling, aligning etc. so it was actually 72/100...

screw the BoS 68.5/105 English (they mistakenly have written down 77/100 though) -> 81 exam mark 71/100 CHEMISTRY -> 86 EXAM MARK. (adds up to 72/100 but whatever, wouldn't change anything) 79/100 Economics -> 86 Exam mark (including one 2 marker it says i didnt attempt farkkk )
