For NAPLAN in yr 9 i got under the state average for everything (band 7 iirc) and school was 2 B's and C's for the rest across yr 7-10. I ended up working hard in year 11 and was ranked 1st for 4 subjects and 2 for the HSC. My atar was 97.25 which is quite far off 99 but the same principle applies.

I went to a catholic school and one of my teachers was atheist. It didn't seem to be a problem from my perspective and he was fairly open about it all to the class.

Don't want to derail the thread but... It really depends on the career to be honest, if you want to go into finance marks are quite important. Whilst you may have all the other credentials, others will have the same + a D/HD WAM. Normally marks are just used in the initial screening process...
