It won't be exactly that Xth ranked mark. But it would be close to it. They take account of the relative difference in marks between the students that's why.

Any subject selection you can attain a 100 UAI. You are not -doomed- by picking poor scaling subjects.

I have no idea what you are on about... Do you mean when inputting the same marks will result in a different UAI every year? i.e. all 70's = 60 UAI in 2001, but all 70's in 2002 = 65 UAI etc.... ? Or, do you mean why is it that a small difference of 10 marks for every course can make such...

If you are ranked 5th, you will -approximately- achieve the 5th highest HSC exam mark as your moderated assessment mark taking account of the relative difference in marks between the students. This entirely changes the school mark, which is why the school's don't like to reveal the final school...

Yep! As long as you do well in your other assessments. i.e. You can't screw up everything and kill the hsc and expect to get a good UAI. Vice versa.

Yeah sorry, I meant grade. For a UAI of 95, you'd need an aggregate of about 405. However, that is from scaled marks. And these marks are not revealed to students, so I wouldn't worry about it. Just try your best and don't let poor assessments get you down.

At this stage of the HSC it's still very much able to achieve 95+ UAI. 78% isn't that bad..it can be easily recovered from. The mark you receive at school is moderated and it dependent on your class performance in the exam.

No it is certainly not too late to get over 90. Rather, in my opinion, is quite easily within your grasp.
