    The Woolworths Thread

My SSM said all stores BUT my store closes at 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Stores that trade later may not have to, as this extra 1.5 hours could be really inconvenient. If this is the case, two or three people will do tickets, not just the one person as its done now.

At least my dress fit me, unlike some "less cheap" dresses I've seen.

Grr Project Galaxy, I lost my tickets hours :( At the moment I do 2-5 tickets, 5-7 cashoffice. But now tickets are being done after closing, so my SSM decided for me that I'd prefer cash office (which is true). Grr. And grr to all the extra sup. hours I picked up for this week/next. Kinda...

    making my own formal dress

I made my Year 11 formal dress, and my mum made the ones I wore in Year 10 and 12. We just worked off the patterns that you buy from Spotlight, I think I wore two Jessica McClintock patterns and a Burda one. You can get quite simple patterns if you are inexperienced. Its definitely worth it -...

    Weekend jobs

Places like Woolies, Coles etc are excellent places. Plenty of people at my store only work Saturdays. If you have a day available, even if its just once in a while, you can say "I'm available, if you want someone to cover, call me". Only problem is that many of these stores can be quite...

    The Woolworths Thread

I agree, as a supervisor I always forget to do inactive pickups and change orders. But after doing some work in cash office I've started to realise how important timing is to the time you end up leaving. After working in cash office, you change as an operator. In terms of how you do pickups...

    The Woolworths Thread

Most office cashiers start out initially as operators, and are usually picked due to responsibility and cash handling skills (in terms of accuracy). In my store they begin as assistants, so helping with cash up when neccessary (at least once a week), and later they may be trained properly as an...

    My Sister's Keeper

Agree, the ending should have been left as is. ALTHOUGH, you can argue that the ending in the book is very abrupt. I'd agree that it should have been left alone, however the whole movie was 'softened out', and as a result the ending needed to be as well.

What color Braces should I get?

Yeah I've had navy blue for the majority of the time. Purple and Lighter Blues tend to fade quickly.

Ideally how many hours a week should a Uni student work?

have you people learnt not to start this argument? Honestly, I think I'm able to work more than some of my friends at TAFE. Ideally I'd do about 14 hours across two days, but nevertheless I don't get these hours. At the moment I'm doing about 5-8 hours p/w. But this doesn't mean that I...

    Science degree without HSC Science?

I've got friends doing Sport Science at uni without having done sciences after Year 10. Having done two science units last semester, they both struggled, in Bio one passed a supp while the other failed the exam so badly that she couldn't be offered one. Physics was an absolute disaster for...

    The Woolworths Thread

Can anyone get Citrix access, or is it restricted to CSM/2IC/Smokeshop etc? Obviously not just anyone, but are the three logons that we have it, or can other supervisors get their own? Although I don't even have office access, so I must be dreaming.

    Economics, but how??

See, at my uni, the Economics major is the same whether you study a B. Economics, a B. Arts or B. Commerce. You really need to look at the course handbooks by each uni.

Is the Good Uni Guide that reliable?

But for communications I would choose CSU. I guess you have to decide whether your focus is commerce or communications.
