    Physics Or Biology?

Just throwing in my two cents. Having done the HSC course twice for each of these subjects (long story short I got really sick thus had to repeat) chemistry crosses over far more with biology than physics. I also wanted to do medicine (got into UNSW but have deferred) and biology to me was much...

    Elite students exploit bonus points...

I think it should be said that it's actually really rare to be allowed a laptop these days. I applied for special provisions as I have juvenile arthritis which affects my wrist, elbow and shoulder on my writing arm. At the time of HSC exams and trials I was flared and could barely write. I was...

    10 or 12 units ???

I disagree. I guess it depends on what you call horribly bad. If you get a high mark in biology, one of your physics or chemistry won't count. For example I got a 96 in biology and my chemistry didn't count. It was my lowest at 87. And even if I had got 93 it still wouldn't have counted over...

    illness-misadventure

Also it depends on what the doctor's certificate says. If it says 'Justin did not attend the exam because he stubbed his toe' it's probably not going to fly. But if it's a genuine reason why you couldn't attend the exam. It should be fine. Btw I got illness last year, I had a certificate and was...

    Special Provisions Help!!!!!!!!

Since your having a writer, you get extra time to compensate for the dicatation process, which is 5 minutes per half hour I believe for HSC. But you don't get extra time to 'write' because your not writing, the writer is. If you've been granted extra rest time this is on top of that time. But...

    Health Problems during the HSC

I think in this case the EAS is not an option. To apply for consideration under EAS for health you need to have had 'a severe, long-term or recurrent medical/psychiatric condition or illness'. Obviously, its probably best to apply but don't necessarily rely on it if you've only had a short term...

    Deferring HSC (Pathways)

I never intended to do Pathways but here I am doing it. Last year I got really sick just before the trials and ended up in hospital for a while during the trials, and then spent the next couple of months mostly in bed. Hence because I missed the trials and one assessment after that for...

    changing schools?

I changed school in year 11, which is a bit different. However, it made a big difference to the way I was feeling, and far from being stressful, it has been the best decision. I had to put in work to catch up but it wasn't much of a sacrifice. Having said that, if the move is not successful and...

Assessment Block 1: Marks, Ranks and thoughts. :)

I agree 3Unitz that Physics is completely different to four unit. In this case, the assessment was fairly mathematical, and thus since they are much more mathematical and both smarter, it was harder for me to keep with them on this particular assessment. :)

Assessment Block 1: Marks, Ranks and thoughts. :)

English Advanced: 13/15 (87%) Rank-3/19 Happy with that, I've worked my way up from 7th at the beginning of the year Mathematics: ?? Rank- 2or3/9 Mathematics Extension 1: ?? Rank 5or6/6 Everyone above 5th is in 4 unit Physics: 19/26 (73%) Rank-3/3 Pretty disapointed, I ran out of time, plus...
