Need advice on my double degree!

It depends on what you want to do really. Just do what you want to do ultimately. I mean they don't exactly offer basket weaving at ANU, so there isn't a terrible option to pick. In terms of degree structure the IS degree offers more electives than most degrees. So it'd be an easier degree to...

When are university holidays in Australia?

Just like schools in different states the holidays/breaks vary for each university across the country. Figure out which universities you'll most likely be going to and look at their 2017 calendars. If it is not up yet look at the 2015 and 2016 calendars to get an idea of where the breaks/exams...

Can someone explain how offer rounds work??

You get one offer per round. There are early rounds, a main round and later rounds. Most offers are made in the main round. If you don't qualify for your first or second preference for example, but qualify for your third preference, you will get an offer for your third preference. Continuing on...

    More than 2 offers?

It means accept your first offer as you might not get another. Once you have "accepted" an offer it doesn't mean that you can't ditch it if a better offer comes in later rounds. If you get your third preference in the main round, you might also get an offer for your first or second preference...

    Combined Degrees

You're a long way off yet, but essentially it is just cutting out the electives of two degrees. Example: Instead of doing 2x 3 year degrees across a 6 year period you do the two in a 4 year period with no extra workload required to that of a normal degree. They're becoming increasingly popular...

    Welcome Email

I got a confirmation the same day (January Early Round Offer). However I didn't get a "Welcome to the ANU" sort of email until the next day which had my ID, etc in it. To accept your offer at the ANU, you have to do it on their website...

What is Uni life like in Canberra?

Whilst Canberra is smaller than the 5 mainland capital cities, the stereotype that Canberra is just a small town is out-dated and has been since the 90s. It's a city of about 400,000 people (projections suggest it'll grow to between 600,000 and 900,000 in 2060), so apart from the 5 mainland...

    University offers not in paper?

Hmm...interesting. Maybe after all these years they finally did stop putting them in the paper? Actually cut lol. Wanted to snoop around and see what everyone got!

    help!!!

Were there any other additional documents that you had to upload via UAC in order to be eligible specifically for this course? Maybe contact the university directly and ask why you didn't get in.

    help!!!

Presumably your ATAR was below 70 or there were other requirements other than the ATAR for the degree.

Chances of not getting in even if cut-off is achieved?

ANU is not USYD, UNSW, UoM. The usual way cutoffs work doesn't apply. ANU usually releases their cutoffs for the following year around August/September. If you got an ATAR above 97, you'll get into Law at ANU.

Did Anyone get an offer today?

I was making suggestions as to the reasons why. I don't think it is that though. Early Round offers seem rather random. You really don't have anything to worry about though. A CT article appeared after I posted and it suggests that the January early offer round from ANU was only for students...

Course Preferences, what do I do?

Lucky for you then. They were peddling the January 6 due date until a few weeks ago since I last finalised mine. Why are you leaving it so late then anyway? Seems a little risky... Anyway just order your preferences in the order you actually want to do them. That is the best insurance policy...
