let's just say lengy, i'm a dumbshit who keeps making the same mistakes over and over agin without really learning how to handle the situation; and i am better at ignoring it (and feeling shit inside) rather than forgetting or facing the problem.

:O i jaywalk all the time! (thats why u walk out infront of cars carelessly right??) lol... does that mean they all have bad breath?
If you've been to singapore you'll know what I mean. There isn't many small side streets like australia. Most of the roads are pretty major. So yeah, jay walking isn't safe.

there are tic tacs for bad breath :p. no-gum equals really clean city.

oh yeah, your also fined for not putting rubish in bin.

Singapore is a republic with a Westminster system of parliamentary government. The head of state is the president, who has veto powers in a few key decisions—such as the use of the national reserves and the appointment of key judiciary positions. The legislative branch of government is the Parliament and the executive branch is the cabinet which is headed by a prime minister, who is the head of government.

Politics of Singapore have been dominated by the People's Action Party (PAP) since its independence in 1965. Critics have called Singapore a de facto one party state and have accused the PAP of taking harsh actions against opposition parties to impede their success, including gerrymandering and the filing of civil suits against the opposition for libel or slander.

Critics claim that Singaporean courts have been favouring the government and the PAP in these lawsuits, although there were a few cases in which the opposition won. Western democracies consider the form of government in Singapore to be closer to authoritarianism rather than true democracy, and could be considered an illiberal democracy or procedural democracy.

Despite this, or perhaps because of it, Singapore has what many consider to be a highly successful and transparent market economy. PAP's policies contain certain aspects of socialism, which includes large scale public housing programme, public education system and the dominance of government controlled companies in the local economy. The PAP has also consistently rejected Western democratic values, with former prime minister Lee Kuan Yew citing incompatibilities with "Asian values". Most recently, the PAP has relaxed some of its socially conservative policies and encouraged entrepreneurship.

Laws in Singapore are generally strict with harsh punishments such as caning and execution and a stringent censorship of the media including magazines, newspapers, movies and TV programmes. Pornography, oral sex, anal sex and homosexual intercourse are illegal in Singapore. Some offences can lead to heavy fines or caning while murder and drug trafficking are punishable by death by hanging. According to an Amnesty International report, 400 people were hanged between 1991 and 2004, which the report claimed is "possibly the highest execution rate in the world" per capita.
Here are some examples of laws currently in effect:
  • The sale of chewing gum was forbidden for 12 years until May 2004, where the sale of chewing gum for medical or dental purposes from a pharmacist only was approved by the government, gum sold as candy still remains prohibited. However, those who buy nicotine chewing gum, must present identification and have a doctor's prescription. Normal chewing gum like Orbit sugar-free gums require the buyers to produce their identification only. If the pharmacist does not take the name of the buyer, they could face a SGD 3,000 fine.
[*]Heavy fines and Corrective Work Order are levied on people who spit or litter in public areas.
[*]Eating and drinking on public transit also carry heavy fines.
Sex deemed by the Government to be "against the order of nature", including anal sex and oral sex (except as a precursor to conventional intercourse), is criminalised by section 377 of the Singapore Penal Code, though the latter has only infrequently been enforced
reason enough to stay away from singapore forever.

oh yeah, one bonus is there is mandatory military service so all the young men are couped up in poliece, fire, army, etc. leaving all the girls lonely looking for company :D

this acctually results in strange situations where an older brother ends up dating the girlfriend of his younger brother cause he comes out of military service first.

Under Guiliani(sp?) NY cracked down on jay walking and other such small crimes and it had a massive effect on larger crimes.
