Hey Guys,

I did accelerated Society and Culture last year and for the PIP we were told by a PIP marker that generally Board of Studies markers allowed a 10% leeway for major works. That would mean our critical response could technically be 4950 words for Extension 2.

I'm having issues with the word limit right now. There's so much research and investigation I want to show, but keeping it all within the 4500 barrier is proving difficult.

Does anyone know if this 10% leeway is true for Extension 2 as well?

The limit is 4500 words. 10% leeway is pretty common (this is usually the rule in uni), but I would probably double check with your teacher to confirm.

10% of 4500 is 450.

4500 + 450 = 4950.

So 4950 words is 10% over.
