Protection has lef to reduced free trades in the global market, conflicing globalisaiton. This has led to inefficient industries globally. Thus, protection also restructs the goods and services made available to consumers
(band5/6 sample3)

Worsen allocation of resouces in an economy by maintaining resources in less efficient resources in less efficient industries, by protecting them. Eg TCF industries
Domestic industries lack efficiency and competitiveness because they are not fully exposed to foreing competition (due to protection)
(band5/6 sample2)

well..bbl dinner...hopefully sum1 else will answer for the next 40mins

It stifles global trade flows, and can distort the efficient movements of trade, as cheaper developing nations cannot penetrate protected markets, such as in hte EU

To prevent structural unemployment by increasing the market share of domestic industries.
