which handbook are we meant to follow when structuring our degrees?
the year in which we started at mq or the current year?

because i'm thinking of dropping the applied finance component of my degree and just stick to b. econ with double majors in finance and economics....

in the 2004 handbook its EB001:
http://handbook.mq.edu.au/programof...ce i've dropped my other degree.... thanks

dont u only follow the stream that is in the year that you enrolled?
cause with changes every year you couldnt possibly keep up with all the changes they put in place each year and redo the subs added or subtracted if your in your 3rd or 4th year. i think there was a thread on this before

i'm confused... i'll ask the SES

Hmm, but the subjects i want in the 2005 handbook are being offered only in 2006, whereas some of them say theyre being offered in 2005 in the 2004 handbook, but the timetable is lacking these, so im assuming they arent being offered right ?

i wanted to know this as well. i'm glad the 05 handbook is up, i keep checking and now it's up.

i also thought you follow the stream from when you are enrolled, but have to make sure you've done the prereq in the new handbook.

asy - that sounds stuffed. ask the uni? if they keep putting the subjects off you'll never get to do them.

Yeah i know, i had planned to do at least an initial 4 AHST and 4 PHIL units next year, spread out 2 - 2, but when i looked, none of those were being offered until 2006. Even then, i had a look at alternatives, which in the old handbook were being offered, even one stating Being Offered - 2005, and to my surprise all 6 were being offered 2006.

Not too big of a deal now i guess, since im just planning to xfer completely into a B Media (Multimedia) but i still want to continue those units, as i also plan to do a B Educ (Sec) Graduate.

Just to add more confusion:

I'm intending to transfer from B.Com --> B.Com-Mktg nxt yr. So neways i check out the EFS site & it has the new 05 Mktg program of study, which says u don't hav to do Econ141 unless u plan to do 200,300 level Econ, whereas in the 04 handbook i got the impression u hav to do 141 no matter wot.

So i called the Mktg coordinator the othr day just to make sure & she said just to follow the 05 program rather than the 04 one....

i think they told you to follow the new 2005 program because you will be trasnferring into it in 2005.... my guess is, you'd follow the 2004 program if you started in 2004...
