Who's for the 2005 scavenger hunt?
Are we having one this year?

For those who wanna know about it this is what happened last year:
Hsc Scavenger Hunt!

Lazarus said:
UPDATE: We'll be awarding numerous prize packages towards the end of the scavenger hunt, including Bored merchandise and a contribution of $100 towards one or more lucky students' Schoolies spending money! Be creative! Get involved! Amuse students from around the state with any sort of visual, literary or aural contribution! This is an easy chance to shine.

(Further prizes will depend on success of advertising revenue - i.e. how many times our Google ads are genuinely clicked. We're not allowed to just ask you to click them so that we make money... Google considers those clicks to be "fraudulent". Please only click if it is a genuine click. The advertising should be targeted towards your interests though!)

We know that trying times are ahead for all students sitting an HSC examination this year, so we've created a game that might make it more fun. Entirely in keeping with the insanity that arises from exam stress, we're going to reward students who do wacky, crazy, or comedic things during their examination period!

Points will be awarded for creativity, humour and rebelliousness - the zanier your idea is, the better! But don't do anything illegal.

Prizes might include acclamations on the Bored website, gazillions of forum reputation points, or even Bored merchandise!

We've brainstormed a few ideas to get you started, but feel free to come up with any ideas of your own! You'll get bonus points for including the word "BORED" in any photos or recordings, or referencing the website in some other way. Oh, and you don't need to get all fancy when taking photos - a picture from a mobile phone will do!

Email submissions to scavhunt@boredofstudies.org (include your username) or post them in this thread.

NB: We recommend only completing these tasks just after you finish an exam, when you have some time to relax, and not before.

__________________________________________________ ___

Don't feel constrained to these ideas - you can do ANYTHING!

Have your photo taken with an examination supervisor! Bonus points per additional supervisor appearing in the picture - see if you can get a group photo! Bored, confused, or surprised expressions are also good. Double bonus if they're holding a "Bored of Studies" sign. (The life of an examination supervisor must be awfully dreary; they could use some excitement!)

If you ask for extra writing booklets, you'll be given a piece of twine or ribbon with which you can tie them together. Obtain as many pieces of twine as you can! Bonus points if your centre runs out of them completely.

Take a photo of five of your friends standing in a creative position holding the letters B, O, R, E, D - points for effort! Bonus points for involving examination supervisors!

Harass the media who visit your school and get a clip of yourself on television. Bonus points for mentioning Bored of Studies! (Double bonus points for spelling it out: B-O-R-E-D.)

Bring along a Bored of Studies stressballTM with you to the exam. If questioned, claim you have a medical condition and need to relieve stress.

Post on the forums during the scheduled times for either the Paper 1 (AOS) or Paper 2 (Modules) English exams. Bonus points if you hold an actual conversation with another HSC student. (NB: We do not recommend skipping exams. Be resourceful!)

Take a photo of a garden gnome in or near the examination room. Bonus points for each additional gnome. Double bonus points if you can get a supervisor to pose with one.

Phone the Board of Studies (02 9367 8111) and record a zany conversation with one of their cronies. Please don't just ring up and be silly! (Board employees are people too.) Appropriate use of humour and wit will be rewarded. You should aim to have the person on the other end contributing to your zany conversation, and maybe even laughing along with you! Bonus points if you mention Bored of Studies. Double bonus if it's a conference call with some of your friends.

Make a sign that says "I LOVE BOS" and get your principal or deputy to hold it. Take a photo. With the school in the background.

Take a photo of your class line-dancing in the examination room. Bonus points if you can get the supervisors to join in.

Record a conversation with an operator from the HSC Advice Line on an obscure and technical syllabus point. Bonus points if it's a conference call with some of your friends. Double bonus if you end up with more than one advisor trying to help you.

Ask for an extra writing booklet and scrawl "I LOVE BORED OF STUDIES" along the top or inside the cover. Hand it in (anonymously) with the other booklets at the end.

Take a live action photo of any one of the Bored administrators.

Write a paragraph for an Area of Study "Journeys" response that uses the Bored website as a related text. Be sure to explain HOW the composer uses techniques to convey meaning.

Take or find a photo of anything related to the HSC and photoshop it into something humorous!

Add amusing or witty captions to your photos for bonus points!

Take a photo of an exam supervisor in a Bored of Studies t-shirt.

Devise your very own HSC exam cover page! Turn the official cover page into something more witty, smart, original and funny! Here's an example.

REDESIGN the entire examination paper as you see fit. Go crazy and write witty questions that parody the original! Here's an example. (Author: Hyaku666)

I loved seeing what students came up with last year. It's so hilarious!

I hope they go ahead and do a scavenger hunt for the 2005 HCS'ers. It just seems weird as we were given a lot more notice of the scavenger hunt last year (I think...)

the scavenger hunt is a great idea. following last year's success, i think we should hold one for 2005, an unofficial one even without prizes just for fun. the competition really deserves more attention on bos, be made an annual event.
sadly, its as if everyone has forgotten our year.

so did we we had a theme one. the group that had the best costumes got extra points. imagine wearing a short skirt and bikini top thru a shopping centre on thursday night shopping. i can*sigh*
we were in the paper too, but the cops caught the three main schools in our area ..they were looking for a group who stole a mail box, im talking about the australia post red box(its a federal offence to steal one) and now that person is going to weekend gaol terms. but the other schools blamed our school on doing it so now our school has a bad name for it.. our pricipal was not happy about those kids who blamed us.

did anyone elses principal read out a letter to everyone from the nsw police department about how student will not be treated as minor but as adults during anti social activities or behaviour????? conducted during muck up night and so on....
