i have to do this question from the 2006 paper

"he told me one last story. He used his aged, ruined voice like an old man's hands to pick the lock on his past"

Use this extract as the opening for a piece of writing that explores the concept of journey as discovery.



and im having ALOT of difficulty thinking of something to write about, as i do with pretty much every creative writing question!


if anyone could give me like any suggestions or ways i could come up with ideas more quickly..instead of staring into space for 10minutes before anything comes to my head, it would be VERY much appreciated!!

My teacher suggested that using that opening the story "the one last story" should be your actual creative writing piece.

i did this question during the HSC last yr and the way i tackled it was i had a generic story prepared BEFORE i walked in2 the exam. something that can be easily twisted into any journey creative stimulus they throw at you

i often found that i was way too pressed for time to start thinking of a good story idea during the exam.

lol that was such a $h1t question...you can pretty much write anything as if an old guy is telling a story
