To chip in, Rooney is an obvious link striker; if you watch his Man U or England games, you can see him dropping back as far as almost being in the slot between the midfield and defence.

Rooney as an out and out striker is more effective his role as a link is frustating his ability to get goals as his forced wide to supply goals instead of scoring. Often the main reason for his red cards and feuds with fergie.

Mind you Rooney is a goalscorer not a supplier.

Well in current form, it would appear that Arsenal are that 4th club. Liverpool don't necessarily have a team that's as flashy or impressive as others, but we work well together. Although we do have our off games, i.e. against the spurs. In my opinion, we are one of the big 4 =]

and we dont import players.. all our best are produce\ts of the villa academy.. such as gabby and barry, hence we are doing the right thing in terms of developing football...
also we have a 10x better coach, who with the smallest squad in the epl for the last two yrs is able to contest the big 4 were as rafa fails to produce anything... except for 4th places
