Write about anything well and you'll be fine. Variety is good in applying your texts to different questions, and markers may well frown upon two films, but you shouldn't be marked down particularly not substantially. Now if your set text was a film and you used two other films, you'd have a problem :)

Also remember it is a 40 minute essay - if you try to do too many texts you will not cover anything well. My teacher suggests two poems in detail, two related texts.

Just my two cents :)
Good luck!

You should do at least 3, if not four or five. This is the first year without a stimulus booklet for teachers as well, and its always better to have too many than not enough!
WHAT! 3,4 or 5? 3 maybe...but 4 or 5...you'll just be screwing yourself over wouldn't you? theres not enough time to talk in detail?

I've only done 2, but that's all my teacher said to do. Hopefully they work out...

2 poems + 2 related texts should be easily adequate for the exam. Don't bother with more than this. It's not worth it.
