2011 hsc engineering studies bending question (1 Viewer)

hey, im finding this tricky, is my answer correct?
i tried to find reactions (9x300) = (Rr x 1000)
summed forces then came up with 6.3 for LHS and 2.7 for RHS

then found bending moment and went to 1890 then back to zero

this non-given distance is killing me, any help? :jedi:

Your answers are correct.

But remember bending moment isnt 1890, its 1.89 kNm (convert your dimensions to metres before using it).

Dimensions on this drawing is very confusing. In my opinion, the 1000 dimension is drawn incorrectly.

I got the same answers. Ay = 6.3 Kn, By = 2.3 Kn

It is certainly not drawn well and you have to assume that the transfer of load from the horizontal beam to the two forks of the forklift occur at 0.5m from either side.
