Yeah, good luck o 3o I missed out one word in my option and it cost me one mark. But the person marking it was the only Physics teacher doing Medical so he gets the call. If there were other teachers, it would've been easier to get an overall opinion on how your marks should actually be because even if you appeal to the exam coordinator for example, it will still rotate back into the opinion of the faculty/subject teacher.
Huh your school does more than one option? If they did I'm pretty sure they need to know all the options very well

I think he said that's the only Physics teacher at his school.
Oh yeah, shit my bad soz :(

Well she's already stingy af, maybe consult your head teacher? Idk tbh

If you know any HSC physics markers then try consulting them and see what they say

The teacher I had previously for my core topics specialised in Quantum. I moved to Medical. My teacher does Quantum and doesn't really know much about Medical, so, my current teacher is the one with the call on marks for Medical.

I may ask fizzycyst since he's the only other phys teacher i know, apart from my tutor
But i just wanna ask, will coming 4th affect me super bad, even tho the other top 3 are quite strong?

Hey guys, how much attendance is compulsory?

And for anyone taht does languages outside school how many aways would you be allowed in a term if you have a lesson every week?

I really wanna go open day tomorrow instead of class

if it helps. Ive been away once this term and once last term, my half yearly report I had one absence in it also.

Right now my total absences this year is probably 3-4 times.

Oh right right. Well it seems kinda weird for your teacher not to know Medical.

I think tbh it really depends on your cohort performance and how your school usually performs in phys. I assume it won't affect you super bad but I think it depends on how well the person ranked 5th is doing

BTW if you plan to ask fizzycyst, (and he agrees you should get full marks) get him to contact your physics teacher about this

She probably knows the gist of it, but hasn't taught it for the last 10 years, since its all been Quantum (demanded by students)
Oh, ok, makes sense now

BTW Writtenloveletters, why didn't you pick quanta? I heard it's lots of theory and little to no maths but is very interesting

Quantum is conceptually and mathematically more difficult. I think I did really well in my option (23/25) compared to Quantum students (which was done by a lot of capable students and they came out saying it was their option, not their core, that was their downfall).

Comparatively, I would say Medical has close to 0 maths :) We only needed to know two equations which is used for the same type of scan! LOL In addition, I feel like the theory learnt is completely out of my ability to handle. Medical is legit "This scan emits gamma radiation, BAM"

Good job on the 23/25 though :D

Hahaha thank you! Do you do Physics? And from memory, you're HSC 2017 right? If so, what option are you interested in :D ?

Personally, I'm not crazy enough to subject myself to Q2Q because if I'm already not good at Physics, I don't think doing one of the hardest options would've helped XD

Yeah I'm a 2017er and yeah I do physics- quanta to quarks (next year). I guess I'm glad I'm doing it because it's a mainstream option :)

Well I don't know whether or not it's a hard option, but I'll have to wait and see XD

Also one option that I'd probably hate doing is astrophysics, sounds like an extension of the cosmic engine

Hahahaha yes! Q2Q & Medical are the biggest two :D I definitely think Q2Q is challenging, even people who go 90%+ in all of their assessments find it challenging, but none the less, they find exhilaration in interesting Physics XD

Guess I'm gonna have some fun next year XD

Also the nuclear equations look annoying af

Reminds me of a chemical equation

BTW to all 2016 chem students got 3 questions to ask

1) Is industrial chem the most popular option topic?
2) Do any of you do chemistry of art (I think it was called that) or forensic chemistry?
3) How annoying was the Chemical management and monitoring topic, like how much maths was there compared the theory?

1/ yeah, industrial is pretty popular as its quite straightforward
2/ I know that baulko did chemistry of art for their option this year, so you can ask one of them. Also, Speed6 does forensic
3/ CM&M had like no maths except for the ppm stuff, which is still relatively easy. Some of the more complex calculations in the hsc generally has a combination of titration and fundamental mole calculations

1. Yep, pretty sure.
2. Nope, my school ran it last year though. Some of the students said they found it interesting, and I think bits of it overlaps with Q2Q (atomic structure, exclusion principle etc.) My teacher opted against forensics this year, said that it's probably one of the 'hardest' options to do since there's extra content that you would need to go through that isn't explicitly stated in the syllabus. <-- Not exactly sure what, didn't ask.
3. There is a lot of theory in M&M, only three major eqns you would need to know - combustion, Haber, ozone iirc. The maths isn't really that difficult - huge focus on equilibrium for Haber, but I find there is a lot of rote learning in this module compared to the others. (chemist, ion tests, water quality testing) :/

I'm doing Shipwrecks btw :3
