personally i couldn’t crack above a 16 in advanced but could top my cohort for standard… the texts are way easier and the expectations / competition is usually lower
Yeah at my school no one really tries when their in standard so yeah less competition

This is what my school said for disc writing when. i asked if it has to be essay style or more on the imaginative side as well:
Yes, the structure for a discursive text is generally flexible. It COULD discuss two or more perspectives, but it could just look at one perspective. The reason why some people say to show two perspectives is because by doing so, it's less likely to sound like a persuasive piece, but it is very possible to show one perspective, but not have the piece influence the audience's judgement. But it definitely can (and should) use imagery to engage the audience, and it can be a blend of facts and storytelling, so you're crossing paths with persuasive/informative and imaginative.
confirming this is right?
I assume so

can it be a hybrid of discursive and imaginative? bc like for my trials i did a discursive that was pretty one sided abt a topic that id rather not talk about bc ill get slandered and i got b6 mark for it, so idk if all the emphasis should be placed on the perspective but maybe the reflective tone thats distinct to the discursive genre?
