Hey all,

I took the time to write up some Extension 1 solutions (hand written).

Let me know what you think of my answers...do you agree or disagree?

According to my own solutions I lost 12-14 Marks (70-72/84)

What do you think you'll get Raw out of 84?

Thanks.

NOTE: INCORRECT answers in Solutions:
Q7(b)(iv) - greatest range occurs at 45 degrees - i.e. tan(theta) = 1 ...so m=1
Therefore the interval is 19.5 < x < 20.0 (since x = 20 when m = 1)
So the width is 0.5m

sorry for the repear double post, but based solely on your solutions, and assuming i get part marks for working, i should get:

Question 1: 12/12
Question 2: 9-10/12
Question 3: 11/12
Question 4: 11/12
Question 5: 11/12
Question 6: 11/12
Question 7: 10-12/12

= 75-78/84

Damn........... stupid errors

got exactly the same as you buddy (apart from some minor different ways of working out, the solutions are exactly the same to what i put in the exam) looks like me n you are looking for some 83-84/84 mark then! =DDD
LOL I didn't do all that in the exam :D I stuffed up a few things and ran outta time...so I'm gonna end up with like 70-72/84 :D

OHH ROFLROFLROFL alright then XDDD I thought you did that in the exam and just reproduced it. CAuse you're like I lost 10-12 marks, and you freaked me out cause I was soo confident at what i did that im pretty sure i got 99-100% T_T freaked me out XDD but still 70+ /84 if a pretty good mark compared to what others will get! =D

i've had a quick look through, and they all look pretty right, except 1e) - when you integrate x ^ (-1/2) it becomes -2x^(1/2)

that exam was pretty good, i was surpised there were no binomial expansions like the other years. your answers seem right to me by the way. im hoping to get a mark above 78 which was my trial mark. far out i got the newtons method one wrong, i dunno what i did but arrggghhhh

All right I think, numerically at least (and ur integration for 1e is correct) apart from the very last question. the greatest range in the secodn interval will be achieved when m = 1 so the range should be 19.51 <= x <= 20 and the width should be .49.

damm the silly mistakes killed me again.

By the way Matt, Its Mohammad, and thankx for the answers

I got either 79 or 80, out of 84 that is.

5 marks worth of silly mistakes. Who loses marks in q1?

Anyway theres no point moping now, what's done is done and relax for a week till eco.

according to these answers i got 79/84, which is decent. Then this should be pushed up by scaling so hopefully 48 or 49 / 50
