one of my friends is going away overseas for 4 months on tuesday, she booked a 4 hour hair appointment on monday to get her hair straightened or something

please explain..?
i've had my hair chemically straightened, twice... both times it took ~6 hours

it's permanent, as in it will stay straight until your hair grows out... unless you're like that girl who complained in NS before about how she got her newly-straightened hair drenched in the rain :p

the first time, i got mine done at ginger on sussex st for $200...

the second time, the start of this year, i was in mainland china, got it done for RNB$80 (approx $13) :D

$13?! I wouldn't trust it if it was that cheap...

Doesn't it stuff up your hair in the long run tough?

Is she getting it chemically straightened?
If she is, then it does take 4 hours for the hairdresser to apply all the chemicals & to let the hair set.

my friend had afro curly hair and she got it permanently straightened and because when it grows back her hair is soo thick and curly she has to go to the hairdresser no joke once a week and fix her roots
which costs her$50..

i have a blowdryer and a hair straightener..which is all i need.

i dnt like full-on curly hair- just soft curls/wavy hair. I think they look so much better than straight hair. With straightening hair after a while- its gonna look so dead, and it really stuffs your hair up. My friend's hair is has so many split ends now because she gets it chemically straightened all the time, and shes practically going bald!

i think Breakings v cute. love the hair, do NOT get it straightened, it ruins it for ever!!! Im loving the mini-fro...
a friend of mine had beautiful flowing curls, shiny hair, like a mermaid. she got it straightened and now its dull and with split ends. i nearly cried when i saw her.

i like pin straight hair and soft curls equally, and my natural hair is semi- curly.

all you need for ANY style is a GHD. you can straighten, curl, wave...anything.

Gordo, tell ur friend to get a GHD instead of paying for someone to make her hair look gross with chemicals.

my friends sister bleached her hair every 2-3 weeks and straightened it every day with some crappy $20 straightener, and when she turned 21 her hair was in such bad condition she resorted to shaving her head :(

yeah, i hate having straight hair. my hair is naturally dead straight and i can't do ANYTHING exciting with it. i WISH i had curly / wavy hair

how cute is breaking!
yeah my hair is naturally dead straight aswell.. i usually plait it,so its wavy. I can't really curl all of my hair myself because its too long and the curls fall and don't last, sometimes I just do put do a few in the front with my curling wand or hot rollers.

*sigh* i regret getting a fringe now. i look so fobby, a mainlander!

you tell the hairdresser to keep the length but do cut the split ends a little. They end up cutting few cms
